The new Minecraft version is out, yey!
Ok, now serious. Jeb did a good work on villagers, since they flee from zombies, talk one with other and with golems, they have a preference for pumpkins (check the wiki if u dont believe me!) and they can even spread an infection, not counting the trading! But they should get some more work on, because they aren't really ... how to say ... intelligent. So, my idea is that they should have 3 special counters: Courage, Willpower and Intelligence
They will be unseen by the player, but they WILL be needed.
Courage: Begins at 0. Start to raise each time the villager see a hostile mob. - +1 courage - +1 courage - +2 courage - +3 courgae
:enderman: - +5 courage
As soon as the courage is at least 60, the villager will not be scared of those mobs. He will even attack them if he has a weapon.
As soon as the courage is raised to 100, when interacting with other people, the villager will increase THEIR courage by 1.
So:
Pros:
-Less villagers deaths
-They are less scared by
-They will be able to wield and kill .
Cons:
-The courageous villagers will sometimes NOT flee too much and die.
The Willpower is something needed to choose a leader. It will be quite more harder to get. First, it will be standart 20 at all villagers generated at the village chunks loading. The children that spawn later will be able to raise it while childs. For childrens, it begins at 20 also. It can be increased when childrens are playing tag (+2) or when he talks to an adult (+4). It will increase a lot when he takes an Iron Golem rose (+15). When the children raise and his WIllpower is 50 or bigger, he will be able to get elected for the leader.
Elections:
Normally, the librarians and the priests are those who will try to get the leadership. But the one with the bigger Willpower and the one with the most Courage will become the leader. If someone else achieves bigger WIllpower and Courage that the current leader, they will fight to the death (at bare hands, if you don't equip them before). The one who wins is the new Leader.
The Leader Duties:
The Leader is getting a red apron over his normal clothes. He lives in a special building called, depending on the village size: (pic coming soon)
-From 0 to 21 Villager: The Good Hut
-From 22 to 50 Villagers: The Stone Keep
-51+ Villagers: The Castle
There should be builder villagers (more about later) that buy your blocks (wood, sand, dirt, etc.) and build with.
Intelligence:
As you might know, in the old time, many people were ... stupid. In the years of 1400-1500, you didn't had to have much intelligence. Now about the counter. It begins at 0 for a farmer and a butcher, at 10 for a blacksmith, at 20 for a priest and 30 for a librarian. It can be increased if they buy the librairian books (my new idea I will explain later) (+5 pts) and if you give them books (written!!!!) by yourself (+3 pts). You can also lower their intelligence by giving them plain books (non written one) (-5 pts) More it is, more is the chance that they will change their job to a more intelligent one:
Farmer or Butcher - from 0 to 15 intelligence. Blacksmither - from 16 to 30 intelligence. Librairain - from 31 to 50 intelligence. Priest - 51+ intelligence.
The Counters should look this way: (they are inaccesible in survival, but can be accesibler in creative by clicking *i dont know what button* on them.
Courage:
20 40 60 80 100 Courage (%)
Willpower:
20 40 60 80 100 WIllpower (%)
Please support!
P.S. Turn emoticons on pls, i like them so i SPAM them on my topic
pretty good idea,so,do villagers, have to be equipped by you,or how else would they get weapons
Well, I am currently thinking that the blacksmither buys your ores, smelt them, then forges weapons. Then, he gives them to the Leader, who gives them to courageous villagers, that also will get an iron helmet over their normal clothes to distinguish them (yeah, i know, this seems hard to make but would be quite fun! Villagers will make stuff by themselves!). Or, if you're really unpatient, just give them weapons. >:-D
