If you put any block in a crafting table in the center location with 8 redstone around it, it makes a redstone-laced version of that block. Red wool = redstone, wood = any block.
Redstone-laced blocks conduct redstone current just like regular redstone but have the exact same appearance as the normal block. However, when you punch the block once, it gives off some dust particles that shine a little like redstone ore. When you break it, it drops the original block plus 3-6 redstone powder.
Useful for the frontend of any redstone machine, little house mechanisms like sliding doors, and traps! And quite expensive, forcing the player to use them sparingly.
Perhaps... But only with certain blocks (No "Redstone Laced Snow")
The things I think shouldn't be "Lace-able" are:
End portal
Snow
Ice
Block 97
Workbench
Cake
Furnace
Redstone items
(Ender) Chest
Enchantment table
Anvil
Lapiz block
Leaves
Obsidian
End Stone
Glass
Beacon
Dragon Egg
Probably more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head

Isn't it weird thatpalindrome is emordnilap backwards?
About the block limitations:
I don't really care if it's limited to certain blocks, but remember that it may be useful for some to make a redstone-laced chest or something. Or is it just that it's unrealistic? I can see that point.
Oh, just saw glass now. No, redstone-conducting glass is one of the main things I want!

But this has potential, support.

Sahpourt.
Yeah, that's kinda why I wouldn't mind weird blocks conducting redstone. You never know what admin might want to make nether portals conduct redstone.
