Throwing Knives- useful for both close and longe range combat. To craft, place 2 iron ingots on top of each other, which gives you 6 throwing knives. When thrown, they would inflict 2 damage points(1 heart). When you hit someone with a throwable knife, its 1 1/2 damage. They would be awesome for any type of combat, and they would also be an alternative to a bow and arrow. When thrown, they would have no arc at all, moving in a straight line(although they would come to an eventual stop. They would also travel with their flat side parallel to the ground. And they would look similar to ninja style throwing knifes.
Why would something that is way heavier than an arrow and moves slower have less arc than an arrow? And how does it just stop? Does it just hit an invisible wall after so many blocks?
The idea, while redundant, could be good if you work on it some more. Adding a realistic arc (between throwing potions and arrows sounds right) and giving us more reason to use them is a good start.
