How about if placing a slime ball on surface and then putting a block there sicks the two blocks so when one is moved there both moved the same direction (unless it can't move that way.... then the block drops and if it moves it to another block it sticks to the new block instead.)

I thought about this idea too. Maybe a crafting recipe like the sticky piston, where you craft it with a slime ball on top of any non physics block. Using a sticky block would cut down a lot of red stone mechanics especially with machines where a piston pushes a piston.
It would also help if they changed it so if you pushed a piston with a piston then whats attached to the second one moves too.
But I like the idea of just being able to slap a slime ball on something and it sticks.... you could make sand floors that don't fall that way too. Nice addition for adventure maps.... some one makes the wrong step across a floor and down they go.
