Okay, I had this great idea, what if once you make a certain trade with a villager and it makes it so that the villager puts out a redstone signal. I figured that this would make a lot of cool ideas for Adventure maps. For instance a quest to get 10 bones, return the bones and it opens a door.
I support the idea. On a server, I am an op and am making a subway system. I want them to pay an emerald each time they use the subway. The redstone thing would be good for this.
I'm pretty sure you can do something like this with some of the new features in the redstone update. Just not with villagers.

Humanity is the creation of Logic and Emotion, Calculation and Imagination, Cold Analysis and Blind Faith. This is why I believe it is a strange Human that would prize one while shunning the other. For a calculator can do math just as well as you, but a calculator can not use math to make the world a better place.
I believe with the new way redstone works you can have a setup that makes it so that a dropper will need a certain number of items in order to give a strong enough signal to activate a comparator which will allow that to power you machines. The only problem with that as far as I know would be that you couldn't check the kind of item being placed. But just giving a filter to the hopper could fix that. Assuming that doesn't already exist.
But I'm not one 100% sure on this though as I'm not exactly a redstone expert.

It's completely possible, has been since the 1.3 update when items would condense into stacks on the ground.
Though it's generally a bad idea to mark your own ideas as "great", this one is interesting and I do agree this would be good for adventure maps. I think such an idea would go farther if it gives a little more purpose than just adding to adventure maps, but it's still far from bad. And there's a few ways to already pull off something similar. I think.
its not hard to make a filter system using hoppers and dropper and such to do payment systems, this would cut down some of the amount of building and configuring.
forgot to add they added Something the works with Command blocks as well for payment.

I still think this is better because I am bad with complex redstone stuff and it would not take up much space.

How do you make the filter system? And what is it with the command blocks?
How?
