I know the terrain in minecraft is random. But i (and maybe you) would like to see these new features:
Butte- A butte (dont laugh) is a huge, steep flat moutain. Usally found in canyons. There never found in chains. Buttes could be good in minecraft to build houses on (due to flatness.) Yet, they would be hard to climb (due to steepness
Isthmus- An isthmus is basically a natural bridge that is connected from one side of a river to the other. They could be used in minecraft for multiple reasons, but mostly just for getting across rivers.
Estuary- Basically a river that brakes of into a bunch of mini rivers, then forms back again.
In minecraft they could be used for fishing, making an house on, and exploring.
Straight- A straight is two continents seperated by a river or small water source.
In minecraft, they can be used to get from one landmass, to another.
Atoll- A atoll is string of small islands nearly enclosing a small lagoon (lake.)
In minecraft, they could be used for making a home in the ocean.
Thats it for all. I'll add more after I do more research. I'm not complaining about the terrain. But I would just like to see these. I take suggestions.
I like this, but there is already a few seeds which spawn atolls. They aren't as good looking as the one in the picture, but they are the main idea: A bunch of islands in the ocean near each other. Other than that, I like all of these.

I use a lot of mods. Here is a mod I think is cool. Go support it, son!

I see what your saying. Buy yea, these atolls are more....good looking.
Oh I deffently think terrain and biomes should be seprate... and there should be a large number of each.

This is my baby, please support her and get her into vanilla:
Isthmus: No, i'd rather leave that up to the generator rather than forcing it; these can already occur, anyway.
Estuary: Sure, why not?
Strait: No, given the way continents can generate these can exist without forcing them to appear. These can already appear without biomes anyway,
Atoll: Eh. There are better ways of doing this.
In short, no support. Estuaries are a good idea, but everything else can be produced if some more randomness was added to the generator (and, in the case of the landform classifications, already exist). Also, you do not specify where/what exactly a canyon is, leaving Buttes kind of just... there. Not to mention that Buttes are impossible in the current generator without making a new biome for them.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Ok, change the generater so we can new terrain then. Buttes arnt canyons at all. They may be found by canyons though.

Anyway, here we go:
Butte: What canyons?
Isthmus: No, i'd rather leave that up to the generator rather than forcing it; these can already occur, anyway.

I never said that. I said that buttes have nowhere to spawn because there are no canyons.
Plains - Flat, spawns villages
Forest - Has lots of trees, spawns wolves
Desert - Cactus, spawns villages, temples
Jungle - Lots of trees, cocoa beans, temples, spawns ocelots
Taiga - Snow, lots of trees, spawns wolves
Nether - Fortresses, lots of lava, glowstone
End - Enderdragon, lots of endermen
Mushroom Biome - Less mobs spawn, mooshroom, lots of mushrooms
The ocean doesn't have too much of a purpose, just mostly aesthetics I guess. And I don't see what these new biomes would add.
