Minecon has been very badly handled so far, in my opinion. I have also heard that someone created a computer program to buy the tickets faster than a human could possibly buy them and they are now selling them on E-Bay for a ridiculous amount of loot.
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,

Biome id -1 means ungenerated(mc wiki).
It seems that the mc believe the biome is generated, and try to generate terrain based on biome?

If it possible to just treat -1 as 255
,and if it still get id incorrectly, set it to someone not -1 next to it?
if the chunk is not be seen nor be updated.
why not just ignore it?
this way may reduce server side lag a lot.
like in this image.
red: loaded chunk
green: surface
yellow: player
left: original chunk <- > right: cubic chunk
Specially after seeing that video of that super mountain.
THAT is what minecraft should have been, its glorious!
I must ask, is there a reason I am unaware of why Mojang has not considered this? Some limitation I do not see, or they simply have not? Where do I send them letters begging them for this? I need this, for reasons... XD
How much were they selling online for originally?
My Favorite Texture Pack is OVO's Rustic Pack:

congratulations !
Well, though I was just a player, still curious about, why?
I.still say just set that -1 id to generate as the same nine as an adjacent cube
Exactly.
But, on my way home from work just a bit ago I was thinking about it and... Is it possible that the -1 biome id is a result of the fractal whatever that is used for terrain generation? I know back in Algebra like, 8 years ago?.. Some equations can have multiple solutions.. I don't know how you guys have it all coded out or anything, and honestly, I'm not really good with code, but I thought that the -1 biome id could possibly be caused by something like that... maybe?
It sounds like the CubicChunks code is interpreting the id as a signed byte. Considering this, are you seeing 255 ids along with -1 ids? Are -1s the only negative IDs showing up? (Seems likely.) I'm don't know how many different Biome IDs there are naturally but I'm guessing there are far, far fewer than 128.
Either that or somehow a signed byte is being passed to mojang's code as a Biome ID and it's promptly wigging out.
Regardless, thanks for these updates. It's cool to hear what's going on at a technical level, even if I don't know what all of it means.

Curse PremiumMojang can't ignore this, it's something beneficial for the game. I would call this the biggest issue Minecraft currently has.
