Mojang, please, accept this suggestion.
It's not a mod. It's a suggestion for it to be released to vanilla minecraft.
However, we do have a mod author working on it.
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

I only use mvc too. You would have to get mpc for1.7.3 and manually edit the height limit and stuff for generation. You could request the guy who is updating it to add a config option for terrain generation.

I found this on the CC mod page:
Client CubicChunksMod V1.5.2 Test version 3 (B1.7.3)
[5:07:54 PM] Maenad: So the mod IS updated for 1.6.2 then?
[5:08:53 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: When i fix the memory leaks and make better terrain generator i'm going to make video with this mod. There is no public info about updated version, but it is pdated to 1.6.2.
[5:09:45 PM] Maenad: Alright, at that point I'd like some better info on it, and I'll put the mod feature in once you can get me the better info
Great!

Are there any cons to using this? It seems a bit too good to be true.
There may be a ton of bugs at the beginning, but that aside, I don't see.

Curse PremiumPoor guy must fix a memory bug in the code of Minecraft.
That will take days and if not weeks before he/she fixed that.
Its still awesome to hear that someone took over cubic-chunks.
I wonder if it is compatible with Forge...

Actually, it's just two different memory leaks within the mod itself and they know exactly where they occur.
The first version of the mod will probably be incompatible with most mods. The author is trying to get a fully working version first, then will work on making it more compatible with other mods.
also you should check out Tall Worlds
Here's my Idea:
Generate Perlin Noise maps, 2d for now, and have one each for Height0-4, Humidity0-2, Temperature0-2, and "Aliveness"0-2 (still working on name for that one) - These Maps would be very basic, maybe 1 digit per chunk in each category, so, low maintenance.
These 4 maps would then be overlaid over eachother to generate a Code for each chunk.
2Height-Relatively Flat, 1Humidity-Neutral, 1Temp-Neutral, 2Aliveness-Alive = Forest
As you move from Chunk to Chunk, the values will change slightly, so the next one over might be:
2Height-Relatively Flat, 1Humidity-Neutral, 1Temp-Neutral, 1Aliveness-Neutral = Grassland
but won't be:
4Height-Mountains, 0Humidity-Dry, 2Temp-Hot, 0Aliveness-Dead = Desert Hills Biome
That would take a few more changes to get there
Using the mods Extra Biomes XL, and Biomes O' Plenty, I have sorted the close to 150 Biomes into each category and mapped them to these settings.
Anyone with some coding skill feel like taking a crack at it? Or at least letting me know how hard this would be to code?
This along with cubic chunks could revolutionize the terrain generation of MC.
My Favorite Texture Pack is OVO's Rustic Pack:
This would be awesome. The only (and I mean only) problem I could see with this is that there has to be a biome for every combination, meaning there would need to be a huge number shift every time a new biome is added.
Ravines, caves, mountains and oceans could be given logial places? Fantastic! It would be nice if erosion where factored in as well, to create flood planes for rivers between mountain ridges. Or canyons....
Compatible. . . Possibly, loaded with Forge? Almost certainly not.
