You mean 1.0.0.
As for readjusting depths of various ores... well, that's not too difficult. We can already do that.
Those belong to terrain. Even with a mantel, there would still be infinite depth. It doesn't matter if you can't reach it, it's still there.
I'm assuming that with infinite depth that will no longer be an issue.
I love the idea, I hope Mojang will decided to implement this feature in the future.

Alike to infinite terrain horizontally, the terrain will hit hard-coded limits, AKA 'the farlands', as you get too far out. The game would need some sort of bedrock or something layer to generate just above y=-30,000,000 nomatter what. BTW: The crash limit at 32,000,000 in any direction is because that's the end of the 35-bit integer (I have no idea why Notch chose this or why it is like this... but it is)
It could be both. I know a few people who are unhappy with the current terrain, but I am just excited about the possibilities. Quite probably it's a combination.
Many mods will be much more cooler with this improvement of world generation!
I made my own shader pack, by the way.
I'm glad to hear that!
Seeing a supporter like this, a possible method of helping this suggestion would be to use Robinton's Cubic Chunk mod and gather more screenshots for the gallery of things this allows for. Anyone feeling up to that task should do so!
Ah, I wonder why that is? Try Version Changer instead? That works for me...
It would still be good for servers to prevent griefers from going that far to corrupt the world, but yeah, it'd be very difficult to get there.
I think its about 4.3 days of constant free fall, digging it would take a tremendous amount of work and wasted time.
