like with |X| or |Z| = 30,000,000+ having false chunks, i personally think the void should b replaced with a false nether
|X| and |Z| being the absolute value of X or Z coords (drop - sign)
wen i say false nether chunks i mean it will still work like the void: nothing spawns and u die wen u jump in
Wouldn't it be better to just visually fill it with lava with the same effect? Because getting killed by going one block dipper in exactly the same nether that you was completely fine before with no chance to recover your items is not exactly what I would call fun.
what i thought of as a back story was the nether portal "fixes" u and ur items' heat tolerance and wen u fall in the void (false nether chunks), u and ur items burn up from the immense heat
lol that's quite a neat back story you got there.
You can make up any backstory you want, but it does not make any sense from gameplay standpoint and will not add anything except frustration, because you'd need to have debug screen open and memorize the depth at which you are still safe - lame.
Also my guess would be that with increase in world height it would be better to make nether spawn right below the main world. Nether portals may still exist, but you also should be able to just dig down through the layer of obsidian that will separate them gating the progress as it is now. Just make it lava, everyone knows not to swim in lava. Maybe even make it infinite, like if it is a planet's core, giving an incentive to go that low.
my idea of false chunks does not affect gameplay. there will still b the layer of bedrock at the bottom of the world
So you are adding "lag" for no reason then? No matter how small the amount of resources needed to generate and render those are, it's still minus few fps. And now you want to separate them with bedrock so no one will normally see them anyway? O_o
However INF height Not so much. You would never need that. But i like the idea of 3D biomes. Cave spiders would not need spawners.
Besides the infinite height and such shouldn't be a problem really seeing as its more of a side effect of the cubic chunks not an intended things. So I dont see the problem with adding a bit of code to take advantage of the situation.
Why do people insist on saying what he shouldn't add rather than say what is good and what he should add.
3d biomes would be very limited without the infinite height.
There would still be bedrock at a certain point, as it would get just as laggy digging down +-30,000,000,000 blocks as it is traveling the same distance on the X or Z axis.
