Everyone should like cubic cubic chunks. If someone doesn't, it's more than likely because they don't fully understand what it does.

I can't imagine that you're referring to the mod...
For some reason, it kind of feels like it was just last week that the guy who is actually working on it was here discussing his progress.
Now, I'm just going out on a limb here, but I guess it's probably because he was here discussing his progress about 3 days ago...

This isn't a mod thread. It's a suggestion thread, hence the pages and pages of talk. Barteks2x's mod (the updated version of the Cubic Chunks mod) has not yet been released to the public. When it does get released supposedly it will get it's own thread in the mods section of the forums. Then you will have a download link.
Robinton's mod has been released, but it's for a much older version version of minecraft. Robinton is no longer working on Cubic Chunks.
You have been filled in on the facts of the situation. (Anyone who knows better feel free to correct any mistakes.)
Have patience, you'll eventually be proven wrong.
Sorry, can't add it to my signature, though. Still, add me to that list of thousands of supporters!
I SUPPORT THE TESTIFICATE LANGUAGE
No true progress has been posted because Barteks has been merging his work with that done by a dev team that is working on Cubic Chunks. It's a long process. Barteks' code was a bit of a conglomeration of old and new code, and the dev team needed to find out what he did to make the system work in current minecraft versions, so they could actually get a system functioning.
The sad truth is that much of the code the current mod is using is old, inefficient, and buggy. Much needs to be redone to make the mod up to the standards we're hoping for.
Barteks notifies me of little progressions every few days:
November 10th:
[11/10/2013 3:18:06 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: Cubic Chunks updated to 1.6.4!
[11/10/2013 3:51:24 PM | Edited 3:51:30 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: There are vertical far lands (pre beta 1.8 far lands, but vertical)
[11/10/2013 3:56:44 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: Like beta 1.7.3 far lands, they are completely underwater
[11/10/2013 3:57:10 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: Infinitely depth tunnels
November 19th:
[11/19/2013 2:52:40 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: Added block populator & biome decorator!
November 23rd:
[11/23/2013 4:22:06 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: I've got vertical view distance option working!
[11/23/2013 4:22:35 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: And changed chunk sending, now it works more smoothly
[11/23/2013 4:29:46 PM] Bartosz Skrzypczak: In early version I created heightmap terrain generator, then added ocean to it. With block populator it would be fully functional terrain generator with 400 blocks high mountains and 400 blocks deep oceans (simillar to hexahedra generator)
Progress is slow, but it IS being made.
That actually sounds like a lot of progress in a very short time. I am very impressed.
It's very spaced out, though. A timespan of two weeks.
Yes, I realize that.
Mmm. It seems to me like he's getting things done at a pretty reasonable speed, especially when you consider the fact that he has a life outside of modding.
Anyway, I know this is a bit random, but in terms of total reputation points, Cubic Chunks is third behind ModLoader and Optifine.

Exactly my point.
Holy Unmentionable.

Curse Premium-Updated to 1.6.4
-Fixed terrain generator, now it generates vanilla terrain by default, terrain height and some other values are configurable
-Added block populator and biome decorator(trees, ores, no snow yet, gravel causes really slow world saving)
-Much faster chunk loading - loading world from disk takes a few seconds instead of 1-2 minutes
-Improved heightmap based terrain generator (ocean, dirt+grass, block populator)
-Fixed vertical view distance option
-Fixed falling sand and gravel
-Fixed signs, chests...
-Changed chunk loading when client moves to work smoothly
-(and a lot of small improvements)
Current bugs/issues:
-Lighting
-Incorrect biomes when generating terrain while creating world
-Buggy caves
-Mob soawning doesn't work (work in progress)
-A lot of gravel = really slow world saving
-more?

Curse PremiumFar Lands:
Cubic chunks discord server
So there are far lands in vertical now? Also, did you add commas in the coord values? I noticed the X value had a comma in a wierd spot
