What are the third and fourth words in the name of this suggestion?
1.) You don't need to quote the OP at all, let alone 1.5) twice...
2.) That weird white background on your text.
3.) Did you not READ the title or the OP or the thousands of replies to this topic?
also you should check out Tall Worlds
Or the big red text at the top of the post, or the entire section of the main post titled "Overall Lag Reduction"..
More blocks means more lag. It's simple math.
Also, I think the third and fourth words are "Reduced" and "Lag."
No, it's much more complex than that.
Also, if you'd have read the "Overall lag reduction" and "Data storage" sections, you'd find that this system ends up handling much less blocks at a time than currently.
Oh, does that mean Cubic Chunks reduce lag? That's amazing!
You're a bad goblin.
I'm going to pretend you aren't trolling for a second on the off-hand chance that you really aren't trolling.
With Cubic Chunks, instead of rendering 16x16x256 chunks, the game will render 16x16x16 chunks. Much easier on the CPU and creates far less lag when generating new chunks. I'm a little dubious as to how much of an increase in FPS it will generate in pre-generated chunks, but I don't fully understand the system myself.
I plan to run a performance survey among 10 or so people soon.
Will it involve cake?
And maybe testing?
I like my cake and testing.
Will you randomly select beta testers for the mod like what Mojang did with minecraft realms?
Advantage #1 - morons probably wouldn't get chosen
Advantage #2 - Manageable income of bug reports and feedback
Disadvantage #1 - a lot of people who deserve to be on the beta test might end up NOT being on the beta test.
Disadvantage #2 - The more testers you have, the more effective the testing will be (hence choosing a small group of testers = less effective testing).
I have always despised companies that run closed or limited beta phases, despite the fact that I have rarely ever missed out on being in the beta tests for things I've actually wanted to be in the beta tests for (aka Dota).
IMO, The best solution would be to have a completely public beta release that absolutely anyone could download and test. Additionally, there would be a dedicated team of testers whose job it would be to hunt down and replicate bugs. Basically, everyone would be able to report bugs, but a non-random "team" would also be recruited specifically to find them.
I believe in the Invisible Pink Unicorn, bless her Invisible Pinkness.
Something even better than a release or test of the mod.
Maybe... He means what i think he means, which makes a LOT of sense.

And I won't be able to say until I know for sure that it's happening.
My apologies, i didnt know.
Very excited otherwise!
Is this my cue to start jumping up and down screaming like a 12 year old girl in the front row of a One Direction concert?
