I saw some ideas about it and I put them together.
The idea is having some way of like a New world + or the like.... you can load up your old world and have some of the geology reloaded/changed a little, but not much... just enugh to restore resorces like coal and iron and stuff...
Old cave systems and mines would colapse in places, cave ins... ground shifts... revens opening up.
All the buildings, villages, structures would be in ruins... most the wood ones nearly compleatly gone... the stone ones crumbling... covered in vines and follage.
There could be settings to control all the various verables....
how much the geologly changes
how many resorces are restored (even being able to set to none)
How many chests are distroied, and of the ones that are left the % of items still in them (most would be gone normaly)
how badly cave systems are afects...
how bad each type of structure is affected..
ect ect ect....
including biome shifts.... you could make it so the world is vertualy the same... but the surface has turned into a baren waistland.... or the water level has rised 10 blocks flooding all your buildings.
I aim to please ... and occasionally mentally scar. "Because it's your right as an American to butcher the English language."
This is my baby, please support her and get her into vanilla:
Didn't say it would be easy to code but there things that make drastic changes like it about.
It would be awsome though to have it, for when you get bored of a world but love the seed a lot and like some of the things you built to much to leave them behind....
least you can have the ruins there to remind you of it....

caves and the like are IDed as such... so caving in player made caves shouldent be to hard..... the game can tell where the serfiace is...... and unless some one builds something out of dirt.... a code should be able to tell anything above ground made by the player.... large sections of smothstone shouldn't be above the dirt with openings in them...... same with wood..... wood it could just push all the blooks down and grow into a tree... lol
I know it would be hard to do...
but they could make it easier and just remove blocks all over the place above ground and place them all over underground for the same affect (though no where as good)I also like the idea of simply being able to raise or lower the level the sea is generated on a map....
I mean sure..... you could use MCEdit to flood your map... but when you move to new chunks they won't be flooded....
