I've been doing a lot of research in why I can no longer have fun playing the current minecraft in SSP or in some cases SMP. This is for all the people who believe Alpha, Beta or maybe even Infdev were much better or more fun than the current generation of minecraft. There are several theories about what 'broke' minecraft, for example some people say the new creatures are the cause, other people say it's the new focus on "adventure" that minecraft has turned. After doing some research on the changes and the population fluctuation based on the new features being added into minecraft, I've personally found that there is a significant lapse in challenging content in the current minecraft package.
One of my major points is the food meter, while at first glance it may seem like it adds challenge to the game, I feel like it just makes the game a little repetitive, even for minecraft which could be seen as a very repetitive game. It may make it harder to heal when you're in a tight situation, but in the long run it just becomes an annoyance for a minecrafter who is deep into progression in the game. The older system was better because it could still be a challenge for someone who has gotten a much higher tier in the game. Before the food meter, It food was significantly scarce, it was a great challenge to get food, because the only source was mushrooms, bread, cake, fish, or cooked pork. I say cooked in bold because uncooked only restores half a heart. Fishing required you have string, which is hard to do at any point in the game because of their speed. Mushrooms are found relatively deep in caves, bread and cake take time to get, and pork as scarce.
Another point I'd like to make is the mob spawing code in older generations of minecraft (Beta) (Alpha) was much more "generous" in the amount of mobs it fabricated. Typically you'd find them spawning in thirds based on race, and about 8-32 blocks apart from the various clusters were more clusters. It was also much easier to meet the conditions for a mob to spawn, not based on light but based on position or location. Another thing, and I'm not saying lag is a good thing, but it would often contribute to the overall difficulty of the mobs. I'm talking about the lapse in hitting a mob and shortly after the game rapidly catches up. In general it was harder to kill a mob, and today it's pretty easy to avoid mobs despite their "upgraded" path finding.
Finally, I'd like to comment on the World Generation seen in the current Minecraft. most people who prefer Beta or Alpha or Infdev to the current minecraft will argue that the world generation is the main cause of their lack of interest in the new generation of minecraft. While I believe that the past generation was great, there are no real problems with the current age of world generation. I would suggest a mod or feature that allows someone to choose the generator they prefer from throughout minecraft's history. In addition it would be nice to have an option in the difficulty to toggle the new mob ai and the food meter in it's entirety. I would also suggest the ability to toggle sprint, which makes it very easy to avoid confronting mobs, as there is no mob that can match the speed of a sprinting player.
It all falls under one main Idea, That some of the major game changing features that have accumulated over time, should be optional upon world generation, because they take some of the challenge out of the game. That is my suggestion.
Is there anyone who agrees with me about this? any additional thoughts? I'm curious to hear the forum's opinion on this, as other similar topics seemed to end in an argument. I apologize in advance if some of my facts are off by a bit.
Wish lists aren't allowed. And pretty much everything you have to say has threads dedicated to it. You should add to those threads instead.

Humanity is the creation of Logic and Emotion, Calculation and Imagination, Cold Analysis and Blind Faith. This is why I believe it is a strange Human that would prize one while shunning the other. For a calculator can do math just as well as you, but a calculator can not use math to make the world a better place.
Because a wish list is a suggestion of multiple things that don't have anything to do with each other.
In the OP you mention:
The hunger bar
Mob spawning Mechanics
Terrain generation.
Non of these are relevant to the others.

Except in the fact that it is why the OP doesn't like to play anymore, but you guys are right, that isn't good enough. Following that logic I could list all the things that I think would make the game better which would get closed down immediately. Furthermore, this seems to be more of a thread that just says "I dislike the Hunger Bar and Mob spawning system, and kind of dislike the world generation. Please undo all these changes or make them optional."
And as it has been said before, making something optional doesn't make it better. That's precisely what mods are for, to change the game in ways that you choose to change them in by installing the mod. Not saying that you should just use a mod (as that is against the rules) but typically "It should/could be optional." equates to "Someone should make a mod of this."
If you want to make a suggestion, focus on one thing and think of how to improve it rather than just saying they should have an option between the new system and old system. Like what you said on food. Why not make so raw food has a 100% chance of giving the Food Poisoning (Hunger) Effect, and reducing all raw foods to 1-2 Hunger Points? Why not make so Rotten Flesh is only 1 Hunger point? That would influence more people to work towards making better food.
So why not break this down into thought out ideas about how to improve these mechanics, rather than just saying they should all be reverted or made optional. Because even if this wasn't a wishlist (which it still is), you suggested:
Make Hunger optional
Make so you can choose how mobs spawn
Make so you can choose the worldgen system
All of which have been suggested many times before. Therefore even if it wasn't locked as a wishlist, this thread is terribly redundant.

because they take some of the challenge out of the game.
I'm sorry? Hunger adds a challenge, instead of just right-click=instant-heal. See the various threads on the hunger bar.
Mob spawning code...what do you mean? You mean when they implemented breeding and passive mobs basically stopped spawning altogether? They didn't change the base spawn rate at world generation, they just made it so that you don't come up from your mine to find a hundred pigs spawned in your torch-lit base.
World generation itself has nothing to do with challenge. I'm not sure where you're pulling that from. Please look at every world generation thread in the suggestions forum, including the one on the front page.
