First off... Multiplayer Expressions!
Looking at what we have in particles, we have hearts for when an animal is tamed or mating, storm clouds for when you make a villager mad, and green pluses for when they're happy. I'm thinking if just a few more particles were implemented, like for sadness and confusion, we could have a new line of commands for creating a couple of emotive particles around the player. I'm not sure how to insert spoilers, so just bear with me if this seems a bit long in the end.

/emote happy <<< It fits in,quite well, I think.
You see how easy it would be to use?
Also, I think the Testificates should have funny alien sounding names or something over them. It would just be to generic if their names were Bob, Jake, Sally, Judith, or William. Besides, I have trouble remebring exactly what villager has what trades. I know you're supposed to look at the clothing to tell their profession, but sometimes I get multiple villagers with the same profession (mostly farmers) and I think it would be easier to remeber who is trading what if you could link them to a name. It would also be a heck of a lot easier finding them with nameplates, because we all know the Testificates don't just stand around all day. This is tottaly possible and has already been done before when the villager concept was first implemented. Remember this, anybody? Minecraft Beta 1.9 (I forgot the pre-release number)
I don't see why Mojang can't just put that back in with a random name generator with names like Artak, Sashiette, Ect. Besides, this way we might be able to use NBTedit or something and actually have NPCs with names in adventure maps.
These are just some minor changes that I feel isn't game breaking but useful all the same.
Well.....what if I sit there and just spam happy emotes? Might cause lag for some people. I do see the usefulness, however. Testificate names would be.....interesting...I usually find one that I like, trap him in a minecart in a hole, put a fence over it, and he's stuck for life. These ides need some tweaking, but I think they are basically good.
I see what you mean about the spamming causing lag... my graphics card sucks and this is a 2010 computer I have. I have to play minecraft in windowed mode at it's lowest settings to make it run at 60FPS.
Hmm, perhaps there can be an option to turn emotes off and a limit of being able to use it rougly 3 times a minute?
Is there an autokick for spamming words? If so the same could possible be implemented for emotes.
You will be able to rename mobs in next update anyway. Put a mob spawner egg in an anvil, and you can rename it. It will give the mob a nametag also, I believe.

Yes, but the name won't be displayed above the head, and I'm just talking mostly about vannilla minecraft with the villagers having diffrent names, not adventure maps. I didn't actually know you could rename mob eggs with an anvil and then have their names displayed if they kill you until I didsome research on what you said As far as I know, it only works when they kill you, and because they won't have a nameplate, How will you know the name of a villager than can't kill you if that's the only way the name can be displayed?

If you look at a named mob within a range of 5 blocks, the name will appear over their head.

From Minecraft Wiki: Mobs can now display their custom name as nametag using an NBT tag.

My bad ^^' but named villagers would still be useful is plain old vannila minecraft. I wonder if they;re still doing secret updates in the snapshot and that's going to be one of them
