If you like redstone trapping you probably have the same problem as I do- THERE ARE ONLY TWO TYPES OF PRESSURE PLATES!
I know Notch is adding a redstone update, but he hasn't thought of a KEY point in redstoning. IF you are going to create traps with redstone, its hard to get by with only wooden and stone.
I always wish that he had implemented dirt, cobble, and maybe transparent pressure plates when I am making traps. Its hard to get by with stone.
Sometimes when a thread doesn't get replies, it means people are just uninterested. Not that I'm saying that about your thread, but that's sometimes the case.

Jeb is the one working on Minecraft now, not Notch. It's been that way for a while now. Also, I think MANY key points of "redstoning" were touched upon. That's kind of a bold statement there. Even without the new redstone stuff we're about to get, we're able to make countless things with it.

Okay..? How exactly are you not "getting by"? What improvements will dirt/cobble/transparent pressure plates give you over the many ways you can create traps? Why are wood and stone pressure plates failing you?

It's been about 5 months, Jeb has taken over Minecraft. Why are wooden and stone pressure plates not working? You could also use trip wires.

Anyone feel the same way I do?
I sorta see the point....it'd be neat to have more hidden pressure plates. The only problems is that some of the ones you suggested are either unrealistic (It's hard to get dirt together and solid enough to do something like that, it'd crumble under your feet....I know it can be in block form in minecraft but still, something to think about) or OP (Transparent....that's major abusable I'll log into a new server and die within two seconds from invisible mines placed everywhere). There's only a few blocks they could really do this for reasonably, so you'd still be quite limited.
Please do not post vague suggestions on the forums, if you make a suggestion thread you must add in a decent amount of details (for example, what you’re suggesting, how it would work, what it would do, etc.)
