It might just be me, but I don't think the beacon pyramid system was fleshed out enough. For example, a large emerald block pyramid can be easily equaled by an iron pyramid of the same size. I propose that each block has a better value that increases in rarity, such as iron giving the lowest and emerald giving the highest. Here is the tier system I propose, 1 being weakest,: 1. Redstone 2. Quartz 3. Iron 4. Lapis 4. Gold 5. Emerald 6. Diamond
This could also help map makers, who could make diverse pyramids, as well as saving space by using the same size pyramid, but with different blocks of minerals. I currently do not have a list of enchantments they would provide, but I would appreciate some ideas.
I don't quite understand why Gold and Emerald are above Diamond. Other than that, I was always confused about this as well. Especially with iron farmable with mob traps.

Gold and Emerald are harder to find, they just aren't as useful.

Pointing out fallacies to undermine an argument is also a fallacy...
1. Redstone (Redstone is fairly easy to get in large quantities, so I think that it should be closer to the bottom.)
2. Quartz (Why not?)
3. Iron
4. Lapis (Why not? It would have a use.)
4. Gold
5. Emerald (This is a renewable resource due to villagers, so I think that it should be lowered a bit.)
6. Diamond
It isn't really that different, and it is the concept we are going here for anyway.
Support either way.
Villagers can trade emerald for very easy to gather resources, which is part of why once you find a large village you have a renewable easy diamond farm.
I would like a difference.

Yes, this is a MUCH better heirarchy to use. But other than that, I support.

Actually, diamond is the second rarest. Emerald is rarer. And gold is more common.
