Hey, The first thing I wanna say is this is no post to say "You can't even use mouse and keyboard? That's ridiculous, deal with it."
Do I play Minecraft Xbox and PC, and I find that Xbox is easier to control, and I like it. If there is any support in Controller Support, please comment.
Exactly. Also, how would you use chat? I won't even get started on how it would make mods that add more keybinds impossible to use.
I assume you would just use the keyboard to chat. Like any other game that allows a controller but lets you type. But mods aside (as you can't really use the mods argument on a control style that is totally optional, if they want the mod they can switch back to WASD while using it), lets look at the controls versus a 360 controller:
Action - PC - 360
Gameplay
Move - WASD - Left Analog Stick
Look - Mouse - Right Analog Stick
Scroll Hotbar - Mouse Wheel - Left and Right Bumpers
Attack/Mine - LMB - Right Trigger
Place/Use - RMB - Left Trigger
Jump - Space - A
Sneak - Shift - Left Analog Press
Inventory - E - Y
Drop - Q - B
Pause - Esc - Start
Show Players - Tab - Back Button
The only one that doesn't quite work is the quick keys for the hot bar, as with left down right up and the diagonals you only have 8 total. Minor loss of functionality that someone could adapt to. After all, Up on D Pad was 8 and you wanted to get to 9 you just press Up and then Right Bumper.
In GUI (Crafting Bench, Inventory, etc.)
Exit Inventory - E (esc) - Y
Move Cursor - Mouse - Right Analog Stick
Select/Place Item - LMB - A
Split Stack/Place One - RMB - B
(New features like selecting as much of an item as possible or distributing a stack evenly can be done the same way as with a mouse, just with the button on the controller, like double tapping or holding a button)
I even have clicking in the Right Thumbstick left over. All other controls are technically debug functions, and there is no guarantee that they will remain in the game. But you could do f5 with clicking in the Right Bumper, Full Screen is accessible in the options, and the rest should be done through the keyboard anyways, as they are uncommon functions that are not used regularly by everyone.
The main point to me pointing out that this could work with only minor loss of functionality and no direct access to debug features (and it totally does, I've played Minecraft with a controller via XPadder many times), is that you guys are saying no to an alternative control scheme that you wouldn't have to use, but would make the game more accessible for lots of people.

Nope, please re-read.
He is asking if the computer version can support a controller.
It is possible, but a mouse is better for First Person games than a controller, that's why on most games that have console VS PC, the PC people always win because it is a more precise instrument.

This is the forum for suggestions for things to come in Minecraft, not "Should I get a Mac or PC"
That's not what I asked @Turkybaconyum

its just a bit slow on teh sensitivity, and no key changing programs. (you cant move the sticks buttons around for preferences)
Though the exact words aren't there, he actually is making a suggestion. He's not asking for someone to make a decision for him.
I thought something like this already existed. If it were to come, I'd welcome it, but we haven't got any news or update for such a thing.
