We have cactus, deserts, and even small tropical islands. What is missing from this picture? Palm Trees.
It sounds complicated and it may be hard to find a way to create a "block friendly" build for palm trees but I feel like it would be a nice addition that could bring a new level of atmosphere and customization to the game.
With this you can also add in new items:
The new trees would mean you can add in a new type of wood for building. You could also add in coconuts as a food source and they may even be used for tool making (coconut armor anyone?)

I'd assume long Birch-like trunk, with a "+" shape pattern of leaf blocks on top.
Just reuse jungle leaves/wood, they look like palm trees.
Except, they have moss which does not seem right for isolated warm-climate trees. In heavily vegetated areas like Jungles, it make sense but not for Beaches and Deserts.
Back to topic:
Palm trees usually have complicated bends and stuff like that so I dont think it would work. (Maybe it would, but would cause too much lag especially in Palm Farms)
