I thought of this while fighting zombie pigmen, i thought these are the only mobs that seem to care about each other, hell, creepers blow up regardless of where they are or whats around them as long as they think they will damage you,so i thought maybe the overworld could use a mob that operated kind of the same way.
Orcs, they have their own swords, which will be equivalent to stone or iron, depending on difficulty, they will spawn and move as pacts, they will attack weaker players more often(not sure how the programming here would work)but their attacks against stronger players would be well coordinated, you know, attack from all sides,or take the high ground then mow you down with arrows, that sort of thing
Spawns, like i said, they spawn together and move together, they will spawn in small encampments, that will vary in size, bigger encampment means more orcs, orcs will keep spawning until a fairly random number,(let's say 3-10)has been acheived then they will stop spawning until that pack of orcs is killed or has moved a certain distance away,OR, a player spends the night in or around the encampment.
Hostility, their attack tendencies are, they will attack weaker players 60% of the time on sight, then there is a 40% chance they will either ignore him, or will wait and attack in a more coordinated way, they will ignore more well equipped players 60% of the time, then theres a 40% chance of them leaving you alone for good,or waiting and attacking in a more coordinated way
If a pack of orcs ignores you, and you initiate the attack, all orcs in the area will instantly become hostile, and for a week(minecraft time) all orcs you encounter will immeadietly attack you. If you are killed by orcs on hard they will pick up your inventory and take it to their encampment, where it will not despawn, but they also will not leave the encampment as long as they hold your inventory
They do not burn in light, but they will not leave their camps during day,if they are caught in the light away from camp, they will hide from the sun and freeze where they are at,meaning you could rarely stumble on orcs hiding under trees or such, orcs frozen by the sun,are less likely to attack on sight, but they will attack in anger if you hang around too long
i'm not sure about this part,so i would like to hear your opinion, orcs that decide to ignore you,can be tamed, but unlike wolves, only two can be ordered to follow you at one time,an unlimited number can be tamed, and set about your house as a guard, but only two can be selected as followers at once, four gold ingots, or 1 emerald will tame 1 orc, when tame and under your command, they will attack, zombies, skeletons, spiders, wither skeletons, and zombie pigmen,if an orc attacks one of these mobs, all orcs in the area will become hostile towards it,after the mob has been driven away a certain distance or killed, all remaining orcs will return to the spot you had them posted at if possible
Minecraft =/=Gothic or Skyrim or anything related.

Yeah. Although, seems like I'm one of the few people who think of LOTR before Skyrim with orcs. And LOTR-esque orcs wouldn't really fit without elves, as orcs in LOTR are corrupted elves, and if you add elves too... Then, well, yeah, starting to turn into more of a Skyrim game instead of a sandbox game.

I get your point, but Skyrim technically is a sandbox game.

Your brain is so powerful, it would take a state of the art computer the size of a factory to come even close to matching the processing power.
Pigmen haven't been coded yet, so why wouldn't you support this? Perhaps you can go start your own topic about getting Notch or Jeb to actually get around to coding a useful NPC instead of caveman-squids who deal in extraordinarily rare gems and get destroyed by zombies. Do they not have the ability to craft weapons or something?

So, would Orc encampments be permanent Generated Structures like NPC Villages and Witch Huts, or will they work differently?
permanent
Besides, you didn't really specify how they spawn.
Sorry, but No Support.
