I know glowstone and redstone lamps look kinda cool but I'm getting a bit bored of the colour of them. If we can colour redstone lamps by putting it on the crafting bench with a dye (like leather armour), that'd be awesome! It makes more sense when it comes to the lightings in your house, decorations, etc.
For example, you can make colourful decorations without ruining the lights or let your lightings blend in to the environment. Normally you would make statues with coloured wool but you can't see it at night unless you put torches, glowstone or redstone lamp on it , which is going to ruin your beautiful artwork. Dyed lamps don't need extra lightings, you can just throw some redstone torch/blocks behind them(which is something you won't see of course) and bam. Also, if you have a wall of iron, quartz or lapis and you want some light and don't want to use torches, you have glowstone or the lamp but you're bothered by it's colour because it doesn't blend in! Dyeing the lamps will definitely make it better!
Now I know some of you're gonna say,' Y U NO use texture pack?', but you can get multiple colours if you can dye it(think about leather armour). So Jeb please make it happen!

Maybe. As long as it only uses the wool colors, and you don't want it to act like leather dying. Leather dying works because it's an entity, to program that into the block system is impossible currently, and to make it possible Mojang would have to rewrite basically everything, sending us back to theoretical Infdev.
