So I enchanted my diamond pickaxe, with level 30, expecting Efficiency or Fortune.
I got silk touch.
Silk touch is a good enchantment, but a little bit annoying: with pickaxe enchanted with silk touch, you can't properly mine redstone, coal or diamond.
So I thought, 'If there's a way to remove enchantments from items, that would be good.'
For example:
① Simply removing the enchantment.
② Moving enchantment to a book. Probably consuming exp.
With a book, you can only get one enchantment/book.
With an actual item, you can get as many as four enchants from a single go at lv30; Even on diamond. I've enchanted a Sharp III fire II knock II looting ...I don't remember the looting level, but it still came out with four enchants on a diamond sword. Mind, I'd enchanted about fifty before I got that...But still.
So yes, I support this. Maybe unenchanting can work almost the same as enchanting with enchanted books, except instead of placing an enchanted book on the anvil with the tool, you place a book and quill or regular book on the anvil with the item. In the case of multiple enchants on a weapon, it would remove them from the top down, perhaps?
