Am I the only one that thinks that bowls need more of a use than just for one item, mushroom stew?
Considering the recent Minecraft updates, especially the ones with more vegetables such as potatoes and carrots, I think this also paves the road for new soups and stews.
For example, a carrot, a potato, and a bowl in a shapeless recipe can make Vegetable Stew, which would restore 4 hunger (subject to change)
Perhaps a carrot, a potato, and a cooked steak for Beef Stew to restore 7 hunger (also subject to change)
Post any suggestions to this suggestion (suggestception) if you'd like to see any more added.
I didn't realize this until I read The Tough Guide to Fantasyland (I think that was it), but stew is pretty difficult to make while you're on the road. But I'd support the addition of stews if you had to make them on an oven or in a fireplace of some sort. Not just the furnace - I'd much prefer we eventually get an oven that combines a crafting square with some sort of fuel, and which looks different from a furnace.
But yeah, the addition of carrots and potatoes makes soups and stews a far better suggestion than previously was the case.

Prinny94812 started a thread on higher-quality food and the potential for mild potion-like buffs. It gives us a reason to seek higher food without destroying the potion system, it gives the game a reason to include an Oven or Stove of some sort (combination crafting bench and furnace sort of thing), it gives the potential for introducing a food decay system for the more advanced food without affecting the less complex foods... all in all, it's something I'd very much like to see in the game.
Stews could work right into this. In fact, having to put complex dishes in bowls and/or plates and not being able to stack them, that works well too.

We could add some Chowders into the mix, too...
Also, Please put some more detail into the post. Like what kinds of new stews are you talking about? And then include crafting recipes, etc.
