this thread adds the suggestion of coral reefs to the suggestions forum. it is an idea sparked by dirtminer6, so be sure to check out the original thread here.
so how about underwater reefs of colored sponge outside tropical island biomes(read dirtminer6's post)?
just hit it w/ an axe, slap some dye on it, and wham, blam, thank you ma'am, you have an ultra cool beach house/ tropical resort.
it only spawns in cyan, normal yellow, lapis lazuzazillilalulu or however it's pronounced, green, red, and orange.
yes there probably is but i hate mods, i'm a vanilla flavored guy (please don't attempt to eat me)
this is an idea for VANILLA MINECRAFT and i want to keep it that way.
once again thanks to dirtminer6 for all the inspiration, and if you critique anything in this post please start w/ my jokes (i try to bring the laughs)
Not a terrible idea, but needs to be better thought out. Also, please stop advertising your threads everywhere. It is considered spam unless directly related to the thread you posted it in.

Okay...? You just kept telling us to check out "Dirtminer6's thread". This thread, in effect, is a little pointless.
Also, please spell out everything. Don't use w/. Capitalization also makes it look good...
This suggestion is also not very elaborate. You don't describe how often they would spawn, what they would look like, or anything else other than they spawn outside tropical island biomes (oh wait, you want us to check the thread). And if the second line/question is going to be a question, you should answer it prior to the thread. Don't try and make endorsement jokes either. The effect was lost.
Meh, it's also an okay idea.
Reported for not being too elaborate and being suggested before :). Please use search next time.

So what? This is a suggestion for the vanilla game itself. "There is a mod for this" is considered spam here.
Back to topic.
Coloring sponge is by far the most genious way of doing corals I have seen so far. But what would be its uses?
Same things sponges are used for now, but in more colors, I'd be ok with this. Sponges should be in survival imo anyway.
