I propose an effect called insomnia, which prevents you from going to bed, or making falling asleep slower. The purpose is mainly for adventure maps, so that you don't spawn in a bed/hack in a bed and create a checkpoint you shouldn't have. This could also be an effect that doesn't change your spawnpoint, which could be good for explorers who get lost, but have to go to sleep.

Good idea. It would work great for that kind of thing. Say, a BUD switch activated the next area when you slept, but you have to survive 10 minutes of mob attacks before you can sleep/
It could also be good for making a build that involves, say, a party, and when you entered the building it prevents you from sleeping by spraying Potions of Insomnia.

If you don't want a bed to set your spawn point, you can just smash the bed. Why anyone would brew Insomnia is beyond me. And I honestly, don't want to stare at a wall for a night every time I fight an enderman.

The Enderman thing was a joke, plus, this was more of a thing for adventure maps.

I don't see it being a vanilla thing, and adventure doesn't really matter in the case of spawning, I don't know a lot of people who hack beds.. I.. Do not support this idea.

It also makes any bed you sleep on not set a permanent spawn point.
From this, I would say potion.
That, and maybe a mob could sometimes deal this out. Like... Endermen? Because they're scary? I got nothing.
