It'd be really handy to have a way to lure mobs in a particular direction. I propose that item frames containing those materials the animals eat act as lures for them. Wheat would attract cows and sheep, carrots for pigs and seed for chickens, bones would bring wolves near and fish would attract ocelots, cats and squid. You might also consider something that'd attract hostile mobs.
Why not a Carrot Block (shift+place on the ground), a Wheat Block (9 wheat in crafting table), a Fish Block (same placing as Carrot), etc. (And they will consume it)
And for Spiders and Cave Spiders, Cake block placed on the ground. (And will slowly consume it)
For Zombies and Zombie Vllagers, maybe Zombie heads? You know... They are attracted by the rotting scent. (And they will consume the head so place it in a strategic place)
For Skeletons and Wither Skeletons, Note Blocks playing music? I mean... They love music as they play them alot with their own bodies.
