Ah, salt. A popular source in life, salt is used for a variety of things. But, think about this. Would it be a useful Minecraft ore? First off, let's elaborate.
What Is Salt's Statistics? As an ore, the official numbers are:
Most Commonly Found On: Layers 22-46 Commonly Found Up To: 52 Rare On Layers: 53-55 None At Or Higher: 56 Pickaxe To Mine: Any Biome: Overworld, Extreme Hills, Ocean Color: White
Salt Armor/Weapons? Salt would never be good as Armor/Weapons. It's powdery stature would crumble under the slightest pressure, even when compressed. Salt has no hope for such high standards.
Where Else Can I Find Salt? As well as it's ore, you can find it in mounds on the ocean floor. You also have a 1/256 chance of getting some when mining stone or sand 6 blocks away or closer to a water body.
What Happens When Salt And Objects Mix? When salt powder is thrown in a water body, the water around it turns a shady white-blue. It turns normal after 30 seconds. Also, if enough is placed (8 Powder in 4X4 blocks), the water will become saturated, and not only will mounds form underneath
I give this points for being unique from other salt ideas, but it doesn't really do anything, does it?
