The redstone update is finnaly being made, and i like redstone a lot,so i'm make a lot of suggestions! One of these would add some useful minecarts like:
Minecraft with lamp
When above activator or powered rail lights up the area. It's a movable source of light so this can be useful. It's crafted with a redstone lamp above a cart.
Chain
The chain would be used for attach one minecart to the other. That will make the minecart with furnace be more useful. When a minecart with furnace pass over an activator rail,is attached to one minecart with chest and and there is some coal in the chest,it will be powered, and will use the coal.If a minecart with hopper is attached to one minecart with chest, there is itens in hopper's inventory and the minecart with chest pass over an activator rail, all the itens in the hopper's inventory goes to the chest. When a minecart with furnace pass over an activator rail,is attached to one minecart with hopper and and there is some coal in the hopper's inventory, the minecart with furnace will be powered, and will use the coal.Itis crafted with 3 iron ingots,in a horizontal pattern.
Minecart with crafting table
When using that crafting table the itens will not fall when the crafting is stoped, olnly when broken. If a Minecart with crafting table is attached to one chest in its back and one chest in front of it or one chest in front and one hopper in the back, there is some recipe in it and it pass over a activator rail it will use the itens in the hopper or the chest in the back to craft the recipe in it,and will pass the result to the chest in front of it.
It is crafted using one minecart with chest, one crafting table and one nether quartz,in a shapeless recipe.
Minecart with cauldron
It can be used as movable water source. If attached to a hopper with a empty bucket, and pass over an activator rail,it will put the water in the bucket in the hopper.Crafted with one cauldron and one minecart.
Minecart with pump
When it pass over an activator rail, there is water under the block that the activator rail is attached and there is a empty bucket in it's inventory,it will take the water and fill the bucket. It has 3 slots for put buckets. It is crafted with one minecart with cauldron, one bucket and one nether quartz. When attached to a minecart with a empty cauldron,it will send the water to the cauldron when pass over an activator rail.
Minecart with anvil
It's is used to repair items likea normal anvil. If there is a hopper or a chest with a damaged tool and one material(e.g. A damaged iron sword and one iron ingot) attached to it and it pass over an activator rail it will repair the tool costing the material, equivalent to how damaged is the tool, and will send the tool to the chest.
Some of these, like the Anvil and Crafting Table ones, I think are good. Linking Minecarts together has been suggested a lot, but it is still a good idea.
The Lamp is never going to happen, at least not until they completely rewrite the lighting code to make moving light possible. I'm not sure quite what you mean with the pump, but from what I gather it doesn't seem very useful other than a secret water supply. Same with the Cauldron, as Cauldrons only have 3 uses with Water Bottles and you could just as easily make a Minecart Chest and fill it with as many buckets of water as you need.

One thing that i always thinked about is that deserts have so much water. If they nerf the desert (that was suggested like 12638162 times),actually it can be useful, make water evaporate like in the nether but slowly in the desert, that can be useful. And actually the buckets can pick up cauldron water.Sorry about don't specify that.
I was about to report this because I thought it said "More Minecraft stuff" (Basicly, I thought it was a wishlist), but thankfully I read it through and noticed it was all about minecarts.
Nice ideas for minecarts! But as Badbrenup said, they'll need to rewrite the lighting code to be able to move.

True, but it would still be a lot cheaper to use a Bucket and a Minecart with a Chest. Use 7 Iron to hold one Bucket of Water or 8 Wood to hold 27 items, which can all be Buckets of Water?
Mojang was about to rewrite the lighting code in some old snapshot i don't remember, but they removed it.
True but their rewrite didn't include moving light, just better directional light and fixing lighting bugs. They would need to do a lot more to it to make it work properly with moving light.

Actually that's advanced redstone, automatic stuff.Kill monsters is cheaper than make a mob trap but a mobtrap is better than kill monsters.
