My third (and fourth) mob suggestion. Hope you guys like it.
Boss
Glow Widow
(Edited a picture from Google)
Appearance
Just like in the picture, it would be a spider with glowing stripes. (Yeah if you notice, all my suggestions have something to do with glows) It would be 6 blocks long, 4 blocks wide and 3 blocks tall (too big. 4 blocks long, 3 blocks wide and 3 blocks tall is enough). Also, dont forget it has to be in 32-bit.
Behavior
When no player is inside the Glow Chamber, the Glow Widow will appear sleeping and in this state, it is invulnerable and cannot be damaged in any way. And at this state, the mob regenerates its health lost from its previous battle and also replaces the Glow Blob Puddles and Cobwebs lost during the last fight. When a player goes inside the territory in any difficulty other than Peaceful, it wakes up and begins to attack. It does not despawn on Peaceful, but it would not wake up. Though if it was awake before difficulty was switched to Peaceful, you still have to escape the room to be safe. (Yes, this means that fighting the boss then switching to Peaceful in order to not die would still leave you with one challenge: getting out)
Combat
It has different states: Fully Powered, Losing Power and Unpowered. It starts as Powered and is highly powerful in this state. In order to remove its power, you need to remove all those glowing slime blobs in the room.It is a melee attacker which has different speeds. Along with its minions, it is a moderate-to-difficult battle.
Fully Powered -This is when the spider has just touched a Glow Blob puddle and has fully glowing stripes. Aggressive. -Fire resistant (because the Glow Blob has Blaze Powder in case you were wondering)
Losing Power -This is the transitional zone where the spider is losing its power. Starts after 5 seconds from touching a Glow Blob puddle. Every 1 second, the glow dims until it is lost. Touching a Glow Blob puddle will restore the spider to Fully Powered. Neutral and will slowly move around to find a Glow Blob puddle to power itself up. Only attacks when the player is nearby.
-Fire resistant
Unpowered -This is when the spider has fully lost its power. It is now weak and will become passive and will flee away at a great speed to find a Glow Blob puddle to power itself up. -No longer fire resistant
Miscellaneous Health: 70 points (35 hearts) Armor:
-Fully Powered: 4 points
-Losing Power: 4 - [length of power loss per 2 seconds] (After two seconds, the armor goes down by one)
-Unpowered: N/A Damage:
-Fully Powered: 8 points (4 hearts)
-Losing Power: 8 - [length of power per second] (After one second, the damage goes down by one)
-Unpowered: N/A Movement Speed:
-Fully Powered: Normal Speed x 0.75
-Losing Power: Normal Speed x 1.25
-Unpowered: Normal Speed x 2.5 Drops: -(1-2) Spider Eye -(4-8) String -(2-10) Glow Blob (item)
-(3000) Experience Orbs
Minion
Glow Blob
(Edited a picture from Minecraft Wiki)
Appearance
Just like a Slime, except a bit yellowish and glows in the dark. Also, it is always in Tiny size.
Behavior
In order to move, this guy does not hop like the two other slime mobs do. This guy cannot jump and only moves on ground.
How it moves:
Combat
The Glow Blob moves towards the player at a fast speed to cause damage and annoyance.
Miscellaneous Health:2 points (1 heart) Armor:N/ADamage: 1 point (0.5 hearts) Drops:(0-1) Glow Blob (item) Movement Speed:Speed of a walking (not sprinting) Player with Swiftness I
Spawn
It spawns on naturally generated Glow Blob Puddles when a player is 16 blocks nearby. One per Glow Blob Puddle at a time.
Spawn Room
Glow Chamber
This room would only generate in Abandoned Mineshafts. Remember those large dirt rooms? They would be replaced by this. This would be a central room of the Abandoned Mineshaft. (Thank you Bugi74 for the idea)
Blocks:
Glow Blob Puddle: When stepped on by a Glow Widow, the mob powers up.
Cobweb: Slows down any mob besides Spiders, Cave Spiders, Glow Blobs (mob) and Glow Widows.
Stone Brick: Just for aesthetics.
Cracked Stone Brick: Just for aesthetics.
Stone: Just for aesthetics.
Dirt: Just for aesthetics.
Gravel: Just for aesthetics.
Gold Ore: Just for aesthetics. Though can be considered as small awards.
Specials:
No mobs can spawn here naturally. Glow Blobs (mob) are spawned via Glow Blob Puddles and the Glow Widow is there from the start and will not naturally despawn nor respawn.
When the room is loaded and has missing Glow Blob Puddles and Cobwebs, they are randomly replaced across the room until the amount reaches either the original amount, or less than what it was before.
Strategy
What to bring:
Sword (Unenchanted Iron Swords would probably work, but Knockback and Sharpness or Bane of Arthropods would make it easier)
Armor (Full unenchanted Iron set would probably work)
Bow (Unenchanted would work)
Arrows (32 is enough)
Shovel (At least a Wooden Shovel)
Shears (If you dont want to use your Sword for the Cobwebs Do not use your sword for the Cobwebs. It will easily get destroyed.)
Battle Strategy:
1. Remove all the Glow Blob Puddles. Knock back the Glow Widow and Glow Blobs as necessary.
2. (Optional) Remove at least some Cobwebs just in case
3. Slay all the Glow Blobs
4. Keep knocking back the Glow Widow while it is still losing power
5. The annoying part: Try to shoot/chase and hit the Glow Widow as it runs around the room.
Unique?
We have an Enderdragon battle which involves either sniping or climbing to remove the advantage of the boss.
We have a Wither battle which involves using ranged weapons to remove the advantage of the boss.
And now, we will have a boss battle which involves mining blocks to remove the advantage of the boss.
New Blocks and Items
Glow Blob
Click spoiler for more details
(Recipe maker is down for the moment. The recipe is a Slimeball and a Glowstone Dust in a shapeless recipe)
Usage: -For crafting Stopper Rails -For crafting the block form
(might add more)
(Recipe maker is down for the moment. The recipe is a Glow Blob (item) on top of a Redstone Dust on top of a Rail)
Attributes: -Normally turned off. Turned on with Redstone. -When a Minecart goes through it, the Minecart stops and the travel direction is stored in the rail. When powered by Redstone, the rail turns on and the Minecart continues on its travelling which is reduced to a slow speed (can be sped up again by using Powered Rails).
(Recipe maker is down for the moment. It is made with four Glow Blobs in a 2x2 pattern)
Attributes: -Normally turned off. Turned on with Redstone. -When still in off state, any entity on it will act as if they are on Soul Sand, but they will sink until their feet are 1/2 in the block. Jumping does not work unless beside a solid block to climb on -When turned on, it will become fully collide-able and entities are not slowed. -It does not produce light. It only glows when turned on. When off, it does not glow either.
Glow Blob Puddle
-Natural Generated ones can spawn one Glow Blob (mob) at a time. Only spawns another one once the previous one was killed or despawned.
-Slows the player down by 1/2
-Can be harvested by Silk Touch
-Can be placed like a Pressure Plate
-Produces a light level of 10
-Takes 3 seconds to mine without a shovel, but only 1 second to mine with any Shovel.
-If touched by a Glow Widow, the Glow Widow gets powered
-Spawns one Glow Blob (mob) at a time per puddle. Killing the Glow Blob will result in the puddle spawning a new one.

(No, this is NOT a wishlist. They are all connected in some way: Glow Blobs)
Okay since this topic has just started, I am pretty open for any criticisms on what the stats should be and if it is overpowered/underpowered for a mini-boss.
That aside, this isn't a very good boss. Well, compared to the other Minecraft bosses (which suck) it's not too bad, but for a game like Minecraft, there shouldn't be any mediocre fights.
I like the idea of the glow blobs/puddles, but considering that the rest of the fight after taking out the puddles/blobs consists of running around and stabbing the boss (like every other mob in the game...) it could use some work after that.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

Dude... I will be honest: I am aware it is always a giant spider. There is a reason behind me adding a slight twist to the boss, rather than commanding some Cave Spiders which are oversuggested. I instead thought about using the other two small mobs: Silverfish and Slime.
Silverfishes will ruin the spawn room, so I scrapped that
Slimes...are a good choice

I was referring to the cliché of giant spiders in games it has nothing to do with the boss itself.
But that still doesn't answer the problems with the boss: to kill it, you spam the mouse button, like every other damn thing.

Oh okay... I thought it was about the suggestion. Derp.
Anyways, whatever we do, it is always the same: Run around trying to hit while trying not to get hit. Unless they add more combat buttons, it will always be that way.
Its actually appropriete that this boss ia easier than the others, as by the time you reach the End or create a Wither you would have decent equipment, and have gone far into the game. Whereas mineshafts are relatively easier to access..and its an Overworld boss, so yeah.
Everything seems nice but I think that there should be no stone bricks and that the glow spider should spawn as a structure of special blocks that will turn into the mob when a player gets near so that it doesn't despawn or keeps any chunks active.

Why no Stone Bricks? It would look nice once there are Mineshaft tunnels connecting there IMO
If it is the height you are concerned about, It would only be four blocks high. I just made it like that to get a picture which shows the room.
And about the "special block"... I dont think so. Remember: The mob will keep turning back to sleep mode once no player is around. And plus, it is a 6x5x3 mob. Dont forget that.
And about the "keeping chunks loaded" thing... Not really. It does not have to keep the chunk loaded. The room would regenerate enough once it has been loaded, considering the amount of time used to navigate the Mineshaft and any caves that lead to it. And creating shortcut tunnels would work but would be too much of a hassle especially for a mob that does not respawn.
Hmmm... I think this could be a full fledged boss, but it would need its own dimension if it were to be a full boss... I do like the theme of "glow" though, thats very original. I like the fight all around, support.

Thanks for the positive response.
But another dimension is unlikely going to happen, since a new dimension would only mean requiring more processing power. And just another boss dimension would be definitely a no. The best way to add a new boss is just through the existing dimensions.

No its not... They are all related.
The Glow Widow is the boss itself. Then, it has minions. Also, they drop this item. And that item is supposed to be used for something.
It cannot be a wishlist unless those ideas do not relate in any way.

Retired StaffNo, it isn't. "Or closely related ideas". Please don't correct people when they don't make mistakes.
Anyway, support, though it looks underpowered. I'd rather it be quite scary, like a silverfish.
I give this 100% support.
Click on him plz?
Well, I just made it a bit powerful from what it was. I am going to wait for more responses before another readjustment
I dont really know that. But thanks for support.
