It seems that one of the most important parts of Minecraft is the terrain and finding a place to build, so it in my opinion, they should add some things.
First off, MORE BIOMES, it gets boring finding the same biomes over and over again.
-Tree-Covered Extreme Mountain Ranges: They would have the bright green grass, similiar to forest biomes, with all the trees, but in the form of epic terrain, kinda like how they did jungles, but again, with normal trees.
-Snow-Capped Stone Mountains: I've brought this one up in a prior topic, mountains made entirely out of stone with some ice pockets scattered throughout it. The tops of the mountains would be capped with snowblocks, and they would be reaching up to cloud level +. Some ores such as coal and occasionally iron would appear on the surface of the mountain.
-Swamps With Tall Trees: I saw it once in a custom built multiplayer map, and it just was amazing. They made it look like this: http://imgur.com/J3ZIALB The ground was comprised mostly out of shallow, murky water, with small areas of swampy land. The tree trunks are skinny with very wide and flat tree tops. I wish I had screens of it.
-Mountainous Rocky Desert: Starts as a kinda normal looking desert for lets say 100 blocks or so, then relatively tall, rocky, dreadful mountains rise. These would be made of possibly a new block that looks like rough, dirty, sandy stone if possible. Here is the general idea: http://imgur.com/k72ZhSM
Smaller terrain features that can't be fully classified as biomes.
-Coastal Cliffs: It would be basically just a tall sudden "cliff-like" drop-off from land to water. It would start as a grassland, desert, or forest that has been risen off the ground either at a slight slope until the cliff, or is like a plateau on a hill/mountain, would go on for a little while, and then the ocean cliff would be at the edge.
-Desert Oasis: (I know this has been mentioned many times, but I like the idea) They would be as rare as maybe a desert well or a with hut, and would basically be a bright and colorful area of grass around a pond or lake. There would be some kind of palm tree, made of maybe either a new block or out of fences even, scattered on the oasis grass, and there may be some tipi-like/adobe house-like structures built around the edges of the oasis with villagers.
- Villages In Jungle Trees: As the title says, there would be small huts at the top of jungle trees, perhaps between those "levels" of leaves on the trees at the top. They would have bridges made of fences with wooden half steps as the path, and would be the size of small npc villages. They would also use the tree trunks as cocoa bean farms. They would look very similiar to this: http://imgur.com/FQT1iOP
I realize that much of these suggestions are nearly if not completely impossible, but it would be cool to see some new biomes and terrain types put in the game. Feel free to add more suggestion.
EDIT: Forgot one thing, it would be cool if there was a gamemode that spawned you in lets say a grassland, the farther you walked out in all directions, the more "advanced" the ground became. I know they implemented this kind of idea in castle miner z, as much as I never played the game, it seems like it could be cool.
The problem with biomes, isn't that there are too few. It's that they all look exactly the same. We need biome variation, not more. Otherwise, you will keep running into the same thing, just less frequently.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

This. But they are right that some of these have been suggested before, specifically the villages in jungles, snow capped mountains, and dessert oases.
Other than that, I don't think these are at their full potential. Flesh out the post, provide pictures or something.

Really, we don't need more biomes. Just variation between the ones we already have.

New Biomes? Variation? Why not both?
