Here are some different tree type ideas
Cherry trees and planks (drops cherries)
Banana trees and planks(drops bananas)
Grape trees and planks grapes hanging in leaves
honey trees and planks(can get honey from mining the wood.)
Nether trees and planks leaves replaced by burning branches
That's all for now
I have a few problems to add to the things that Rumblethumps points out.
First: Grapes don't grow on trees. I know Minecraft isn't always like real life but I still would rather see grapes implemented in a more realistic way simply for visual purposes.
Second: switch honey with syrup and I'll jump on that bandwagon real quick. Basically I would rather honey be implemented with a forestry-esque bee keeping method. As opposed to trees just dropping it whenever I cut it down.
Third: No trees in the nether. Not actual wooden ones anyways. Maybe a stone 'petrified' tree, but not an actual wood tree. Also no firey leaves. That could just get unnecessarily messy.
Alright. Thats all for now. Balls in you court now, as they say.

Humanity is the creation of Logic and Emotion, Calculation and Imagination, Cold Analysis and Blind Faith. This is why I believe it is a strange Human that would prize one while shunning the other. For a calculator can do math just as well as you, but a calculator can not use math to make the world a better place.
Okay, but what would they look like? What would the color of the wood and leaves be? Go into a bit more detail.
Also, what would the fruit and honey do? How many bars would they restore? etc, etc....
Bananas=2 hunger and long saturation
Cherries=3 hunger and short saturation
Grapes=2 hunger and medium leagnth saturation
Honey (or syrup)=2 full hearts restored
nether trees would be made out of soul rock (rardened and cemented soal sand and gracel(Sedementary rock.
LaughingMan16 when i meant leaves replaced with fire i was imagining only a couuple burnt soul rock branches That's all.
Very poorly written, and the implementation of the fruits mentioned above and new tree types have both already been suggested, though i believe this is the first to suggest this specific combination of the two.
In any case, i'm all for the implementation of more plants (i feel variety makes the game more interesting) but certainly not like this.
Please do not post vague suggestions on the forums, if you make a suggestion thread you must add in a decent amount of details (for example, what you’re suggesting, how it would work, what it would do, etc.) For more tips on making a good suggestion, stop by this thread
