what if there were more types of arrows?
you know, like fire arrows and ice arrows from zelda.
flame aspect bows have problems such as not lighting wood on fire and staying lit underwater.
what if you could freeze your enimies?
new arrow type, new potions, maybe some sort of use for bats.
i guess my favorite idea is a new freeze condition to be negated and replaced by fire and so on.

maybe a tender condition to be applied after burn that temporarily increases damege taken from sword/bow attacks, and a chilled/nippy/cold effect for after cold that creates temporary shaky movement and some shivering noises

flame aspect bows have problems such as not lighting wood on fire and staying lit underwater. That isn't a "problem", that's just how it is. Lighting wood from afar isn't that big of a deal, and can be done easily with Flint & Steel. I admit the underwater thing is senseless, but it still can't ignite mobs underwater, so there's no huge gamebreaking bug there.

I'd say that could be a bit overpowered. This has also been suggested a hundred times.
new arrow type, new potions, maybe some sort of use for bats. Then perhaps tell us what that would be, instead of just saying "new this, new that!" without explaining anything? If you start bringing up new potions and bat uses, you're starting a wishlist.

No thanks. Critical hits, enchantments and the many ways of igniting mobs pack enough punch, we don't need to throw in these extra damage status effects.

1. You should edit the OP with new ideas, not post them separately.
2. Try not to wishlist and stay on topic - you went from vague arrow ideas to mentioning potions and bats without any linking or explanation.

Overall, I don't support for two main reasons. For one, this stuff can (and already has, to an extent) been added as enchantments, which work fine without needing lots of slots just for arrows. Secondly, I don't see how a method to prioritise certain arrows over others could be added. For instance, if I want to shoot a skeleton with an ice arrow to slow it, then immediately hit a zombie with a fire arrow, how would the game know? Using random arrows from your inventory would be the only way to have rapid switching of arrow types, and would be a massive pain in the neck. Again, this could be simply replaced by having more elemental enchantments for bows, and carrying one for each situation.
