I was walking through my strip mine today and I had to go AFK. When I came back, I realized that I had been standing underneath a dripping lava block. At that point I thought...
"If this is dripping lava, then why does it not hurt me?"
My suggestion, To have dripping lava act as a small damage source, dealing 1/2 heart damage every few seconds. No chance of setting character on fire.
I know that this sounds like a pretty terrible idea at first, but If you really think about it, 1/2 heart ambient damage really won't affect normal gameplay. It would however act as a great new hazard for map builders and it would add another nice immersion feature to the game.
No. Dripping lava and water are particles. Some people turn off particles, so they can't see dripping lava. That would make them think that they were randomly taking damage.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Please click the dragons, they need to grow. Also, my fully grown dragons can be found in my bio.

Suggestions/Criticism Welcome!
But yeah, I kinda like the idea, though.
