I was making my adventure map, and I thought. "It would be really useful if I could make a redstone powered block that when powered, it would play a voice recording or a song."
Now you may think "Ezra, that is stupid, what would I use that for?" Well I think it would be very fun to do on Survival maps and Adventure maps alike.
Survival Maps: You walk through a door, step on a pressure plate, and it says a custom message like "Honey I'm home!!!". Or hit a button next to the door, and hear a doorbell.
Adventure maps: This is the main use of this. You could use it to play some epic music during a boss fight, or you could have villagers say something when you walk through their door. Play scary music during scary quests, or at the end of a map, some more epic music.
You may be thinking: "But Ezra, how could this be done" Wellllll, most likely way this dream of mine will come true is to use McEdit or something like that. But you could create a folder that you put audio files into. Sethbling creates a filter that would allow you to take an audio file, and filter it so the block (Noteblock or Command Block) would play the audio file when a redstone current is applied to it.
However, Mojang could do this. Create an audio file, put it into the .(dot)minecraft folder. Create a song block (Just an example of the block name). When the interface is opened, it would bring up the audio file, and you simply choose the file you wanted it to play.
Due to Minecraft's limited sound system, this would not work too well, and I bet on servers there would be pressure plates everywhere that when you press on them, say: "F*** YOU!".

You love my posts don't you....
lul, jk.
I'm not too technology smart like actual programming, so I wasn't really aware of that problem, but I can dream, can't I?
But hey, they'll always keep making updates, so they'll have to upgrade their memory, so maybe they'll be able to do this, you never know.
I think that all this transporting of sound files would cause problems on servers. And, as stated above, too much troll possible. You don't even need pressure plates. Just a simple repeating redstone current. So, as much as I would love to have this, no support. Sorry.
I gotcha. Some ideas just weren't meant to go far.
