Why the heck do people care about "oh noh ists going to become a spore disaster!!!!11111"
Obviously, If this was community made you would have to post it on the forums. THEN you would have to install it yourself. No mod can download itself to your computer.

Epic!!!!!!! I support 100%!!!!!!!!! My only question is, I know the FAQ said you have to use existing mobs as templates, but what about uploading a template you designed yourself or that someone has designed?

The default mod models would be included in everyone's game. For multiplayer servers, there would need to be dynamic downloading so the client could download the temporary mob files so they can see them in game. with dynamic downloading, this would make it possible for custom mob models, i guess. they would need animations though, and i dont know how that would fit into the game
Though the stupid MOB's ingame would be annoying, I have full support. I would like to see Notch have weekly Fridays model updates if he makes this, so then every Friday a burst of inspiration comes out. Heh, imagine some of those bad MOB ideas like a creeper that drops 64 diamond blocks on death but explodes in a 1x1x30 radious...
Did i hear Wurm Online? (Btw, i don't know ya, so if you DO mean wurmonline, the i am the one who has no idea what the heck your talking about... which server? GV, Freedom, or Wild? ... I am guessing Freedom, i mean MC + Wurm/Freedom = Win)
I would not like this, but yet I would. Having it be like spore would be a disaster. You would have mobs shaped like anything possible, some would be great but others... well, you know. Some would be overpowered, some would be underpowered. It would be preferable to have some kind of option-menu where you can pick what mobs you want, and it would download them from the master server (in this case Minecraft.net).
[Rant]
Another thing that would ruin the game for me (kinda) would be that to get any kind of mob you would just have to hit the button. To me it feels like it wouldn't be as much of a novelty to hit a button to download a mob then to get, say, Mo' Creatures in which a lot of work went into. [/Rant]

Q: Can we make our own mob shapes?
A: Probably not. You would probably have to select from default pre-made shapes (by Notch), and customize those. Custom mob shapes and animations would probably be included in a more advanced editor or the API.
There would be an in game option of which mobs to allow, if you don't want certain mobs you don't have to use them. You don't have to play with mobs you don't want. In a way, it will be more limited than Spore; but the meaning of the concept is not to be like Spore anyways. I never mentioned I wanted it to be like spore, some of the commenters might have but I don't think custom models would be very good.

Wait, what?!
So, what exactly is the point of this mob maker if there are no custom models for mobs? I was imagining something that could let you make creatures such as the ones in Mo'Creatures.
I'm not gonna support something that just lets you make a million skin and damage edits of the >15 default mobs.
I am fine with it just being skin/attack/defense/drops/immunity/mobility modification. But to implement different mob models for the creator, I would think Notch would put together a huge list of unused models to choose from. And he could even put in models that were previously failures (just look at how successful the creeper was!).

I once saw a chicken push a creeper off of a cliff. I never looked at chickens the same way ever again. That is of course until I needed feathers.
How to stop overpowered ****:
1. Don't download overpowered ****
2. ???
3. Profit

Also, I belive if Notch dosnt add this, it'll be a sin.
At least you might have a warning, unlike me when a creeper decide it would be nice to a tea party on top of my door frame.
Oh, you should have said "Would you fancy a spot of tea and some crumpets, my good sssssssir?" to the Creeper.
