Sounds Cool, although i think it should make the files you would have to put into the Minecraft.jar and not be connected to a Huuuge list of everything people have ever made.
Then when you make something you wouldn't have to look through 62 million enemies just to find the one you made.
So something like this:
-Make Mob
(Name Mob
(Specifies where it spawns and when
(Does it die in the day?
(Skin the Mob
then the program makes it with the specified integers
-Find where you saved it
-Put the files into the Minecraft.Jar File
I love the idea, but part of me also says that this is not what Minecraft is. Minecraft is not a creature creating game, it's not the Sims, and it's not Zoo Tycoon (Unless you Mod the game to your personal taste to make it like said games)
Minecraft is a simpler version of Wurm, it's a survival game where you are stranded and must make better of it. I think that this would be better a Mod. Even if it had a glitches, and we had to reinstall it for each update, because then it does not become the game and Notch doesn't have to wonder if people are actually using the game or if he just wasted all that time and money on the game it is today and should have worked on something more like spore instead.
I do love creating creatures and new things, but I have other games for that. I like this game for it's uniqueness in the sense that you have to make everything. You have to flatten your own land, put up a house one block at a time, and you don't have large amounts of control over your environment, all you have is your bare hands and daylight to make somewhere safe. I think that if this Mob Maker were added as part of the game it would step over the fine line on either side and plausibly make the game boring or listless.

i tried making a mob from this version but failed :sad.gif: but i love this keep making it improved also if u want i can help if i can help in some way like idk but it would make me feel like if i helped u i will give u no diamond but a pet :tongue.gif: just if i could help that would make me happy :biggrin.gif:.
the dangers of such a program, and i say program for a reason, are hazardous to society and totally epic. i would at least make variants of animals that act the same as their counterparts, but drop different items. i want to be able to kill a cow and get some bones or some leather. or to kill a custom mob that drops string but is virtually harmless, so peaceful players can still have relatively vanilla minecraft and still have access to string. maybe it could be easier to create boss mobs with this. the potential is high but in both directions. SOMEONE WILL MAKE AN EVIL CHICKEN I GUARANTEE THIS but anyways the outcome of such an awesome power will be interesting to see... hopefully sees this and implements a new mob library for minecraft for easier mob creation, or for more accessability and simplicity to the mob system of minecraft.
This idea is the best idea any fan of Minecraft have EVER made... You can ask and ask and ask notch to make more and more mobs, that he might not even think is any nice, but if you had a MOB CREATOR you could MAKE THEM YOURSELF!

Also, the people that make a mob that give OVER 9000 diamonds each drop, is passive, and have 1 HP, will VERY soon find their game VERY boring... And if you add it to servers... Well... Noone would like that server...
Of anything Notch shall add that users suggest, this should be the it...

I could make a Pig, that is hostile towards monsters. He would go up to the bad guys, and BOOM.
