What are the chances that just as I was thinking about iron trap doors, that someone would post a suggestion thread about it?
Actually, it's not all that redundant if you're referring to the concept itself; unless, you mean to say that regular trapdoors are redundant to wood doors?
Highly redundant. Please use the search function to make sure your idea hasn't been suggested before.
I did search, all I saw was recipe suggestions for different wooden trapdoor styles;
"iron trap door" was not in the search, which is why I posted this thread.
trust me - all forums are the same, "search before posting" is not only a common rule, it is a guideline I always use on ANY forum, not just here.

about the same odds of NEEDING one, if you were to use a trapdoor in a redstone circuit, but don't want direct player interaction.

I guess I meant oversuggested. I mean, if you search iron trap door on the forums you get at least two dozen suggestions for this.

or, make a piston door with a secret lever operated by a lever which is ment to be a beer maker....instead of going through alot of programing, dont see the point, if you got an iron door to get inside, why an iron trapdoor inside...
Because:
gravity doesn't work horizontally.
a sticky piston wouldn't fit in the tight space, normal piston would look awful
I don't want direct player interaction or the possibility thereof.
I don't drink beer, only whiskey (like a real man)
as a fellow software engineer, I know it's not that hard to implement. (tho I do understand lazyness)
for the same reason(s) one would would use an Iron Door.
