So I just spent an entire weekend on a quest to find a mushroom biome in a Large Biomes map, without cheating. Well, after about 20 maximum-zoom maps, I got frustrated and peeked at Amidst, which is the program that tells you where to look for mushroom biomes. Mind you, I only peeked, but when I did, it turns out I was only 3 maps away from my long-sought mushroom biome. Long story short though, when I finally got to the mushroom biome, I was a bit underwhelmed.
The quest was the funnest part. I had a lot of fun making all those maps and sailing all around. I just think that the end point of the quest needs to be spiced up a bit.
So here's the suggestion: another island biome, much like the mooshroom biome. Only this time it's a bit more natural.
Nice bright green grass, like the jungle.
Well-spaced trees, normal sized taller than forest trees, but not as tall as giant jungle trees.
No hostile mobs.
Naturally-growing and abundant fruit of all kinds: melons, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes.
Super-abundant apple trees that drop apples from nearly every leaf block.
Golden apple trees that drop golden apples rarely.
Gold, diamonds, and emeralds found in ores near the surface.
Friendly testificates that wander the island, free from fear of zombies.
Something refreshing to drink: honey? nectar?
Nice sandy beaches.
Moderately hilly terrain, like mushroom islands.
Yes, it's truly Minecraft Paradise, but it's a small island, and you have to search long and hard to find it.
The mechanics, development and purpose of the idea are all well done. Sadly though, like every other suggestion out there, I don't support. I don't think Minecraft needs another super rare biome. This paradise island, regardless of how rare it is, can put a huge dent in the difficulty of the game. This would also be abused, as people would share seeds where this new island is nearby and players get a do-a-lot-less-work-free card.
We have many biomes in the game that offer unique things, but this island is like many of the best biome resources mashed into one area, and the trees give apples more often, and no hostile mobs spawn here, and rareores are more abundant and closer to the surface and gives us all kinds of food. That's too much. Too too much.
This island is so overpowered that it hurts. This is why the game doesn't have the option of making diamonds less rare, or obsidian tools that are stronger than diamond ones. Too much. If players still want these super easy spoon feedings, then that's where mods come in.

Nice bright green grass, like the jungle. Or how about...Slightly less green? Jungle grass looks too green for a tropical paradise.
Well-spaced trees, normal sized. Or, tall ones like tropics have.
No hostile mobs. Fine with that.
Naturally-growing and abundant fruit of all kinds: melons, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes. Carrots and Potatoes are not fruits. Oh well, I want natural Melons.
Super-abundant apple trees that drop apples from nearly every leaf block., Or just increase drop rate when an Oak Leaf decays in this biome
Golden apple trees that drop golden apples rarely. Overpowered
Gold, diamonds, and emeralds found in ores near the surface. Overpowered
Friendly testificates that wander the island, free from fear of zombies. Oh they should also wear clothes made of leaves
Something refreshing to drink: honey? nectar? Potions?
Nice sandy beaches. Yes!
Moderately hilly terrain, like mushroom islands. Yes!

I'd agree with that if I was satisfied with the mushroom biome.
This paradise island, regardless of how rare it is, can put a huge dent in the difficulty of the game.
About as much of a dent as having Peaceful mode and Creative mode available. If players can resist the temptation of clicking over to Peaceful, surely they can resist the temptation of living their entire Minecraft lives on Paradise Island. Eventually, even the wonderfulness of paradise island will wear off, and players will want to leave.
This would also be abused, as people would share seeds where this new island is nearby and players get a do-a-lot-less-work-free card.
I hope people would share seeds with easily-accessible paradise island. As far as I'm concerned, if players want their game to be easier, there are tons of ways to do that via mods, seeds, Creative and Peaceful modes.

Well, every beneficial thing in Minecraft needs its drawback. In this case, I think the rarity and difficulty of finding such a biome would be a good drawback. Also, since it's an island, it's not easy to get all those resources harvested and transported to other regions of the world.
This island is so overpowered that it hurts. This is why the game doesn't have the option of making diamonds less rare, or obsidian tools that are stronger than diamond ones.
I just want to point out that, yes, Minecraft actually does have tools to make diamonds less rare, and tools that are stronger than diamond. Before they introduced Enchanting, people used to say that it wouldn't happen. Well, it did.
Too much. If players still want these super easy spoon feedings, then that's where mods come in.
Well, I still think players will need mods in order to truly exploit a paradise island. If you're not using mods (or seeds), you won't have instant access to the overpowered biome anyways. There's no spoon-feeding going on unless you are cheating or using a seed you found on the internet.
In Multiplayer too, Paradise Island takes on a bit different meaning. They could make handy locations for spawn villages. Or they could be deadly PVP areas, since the land is so desirable there.
I like the idea, a nice place to go to get away from mobs, get food, etc... but i think the ores stuff is too much, as others have said. Though i think apple trees are something that should be added either way, as well as naturally growing food. Partial support
I fully support. Best Idea I ever read. You, dude, is awesome. Now, we need to mod it. :DDDDD
I'm not very good with mods, but I am starting to look at the code for modding this in. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard, but I have to decipher a layer of terrain generation code. My original thought was that I'd simply duplicate the Mushroom Biome, with appropriate changes, but Mushroom Biomes generate differently than the regular biomes.

I think you are going to love my Survival Let's Play series on YouTube! It's called Spaceboot1's Garden. I make pretty things.
The problem I have is with the originality of the biome. It is made of borrowed features, which would not make it even look fun.

Fair enough. Perhaps it should have its own green. Each biome has its own version of green.
Right. Or you might call them medium trees. Eight to ten blocks high. Not the towering jungle trees. Those fit in a different biome, I think.
Depends how rare. A golden apple is just an apple and eight nuggets.
Except that paradise islands are rather small. It wouldn't take long to mine out the entire island.
Sure. I'll leave that to the texture artists.
