I give this FULL SUPPORT! This seems logical and creative. It would fit in perfectly with the natural order of Minecraft. I would also like to build off this...
If slimes left something like a slime trail where they hopped, it would be nice. It would be like snow (not the block) except it would be transparent, green, and would slow you down slightly if you walk on it. Gives you more reasons to kill slimes. Also, they would give you 2-4 slime balls if broken with a shovel.
What if you had non-stick armor? You could cover any type of armor with slime or something (that doesn't make sense, lol, it just make it more sticky) and it would negate the stick effect. However, it would significantly lower the durability of the armor, leaving a drawback for the awesome nonstickiness.
What if there were slime caves? There would be slime (mentioned above) everywhere, with naturally generating slime blocks and a slime spawner in the middle. Oh, and treasure, too. Lots of people like treasure.
And of course, slimes would be unaffected by all the slime. Maybe they would grow gradually bigger? Who knows? I think this has lots of potential.

More like illogical. You should speed across slime, not stick to it.

I have too slow an internet connection to be a lurk. If I wate time opening the page, I might as well reply.
Yes. Yes I do.
Whatever... I still think that mobs should speed across the slime instead of get stuck like cobwebs...

Minecraft slime is sticky. That is all there is to say on the matter. I'm glad you support, but you're trying to take a fun game mechanic and give it some reason for not making sense. This is Minecraft, not Terraria (in which Slime Gel is flammable O.o)
About a WEEK ago, the same thing was suggested. Just because it has a diffrent use, does not mean that you cannot suggest to the suggester.
EDIT: Woops. It looked newer then It was.

Minecraft slime isn't sticky, it's slimy! We have sticky pistons beacause the slime trapps air and creates suction. I believe i've mentioned this before, but: It's sort of like that stuff that nickelodion gave out, It would stick if you smeared it against two flat surfaces, but mainly, it's slick.

I like the idea of a slime block, it would save space for those who have slime farms. Mojang should have compact blocks for all resources... But yeah, making a mob completely stuck is too OP, it needs to be like soul sand.
