I know what you think: "That's INSANE. The Nether would be unbearable."
Well, this is an idea for those who think minecraft is too easy. Imade nether fire spread.
How this would work is that the Nether would spawn as normal, with a couple of fires here and there. Every minute, a random Fire spreads out one space. This could be a very intense challenge for those seeking thrill.
So don't delay, support today!

Pointing out fallacies to undermine an argument is also a fallacy...
It's for hard mode, I would be disgusted if it were in any other mode. Plus, they could put out the fire around the house before the problem would start. Plus, why are you building a flammable house in the Nether?

He means no one could move into the nether because everything would be engulfed in flames, meaning only people who were there before could survive.

Or they could, you know, left click a few times to make a spot to build since you would spawn on the portal and NOT be instantly set on fire. This would actualy be a pretty interesting addition, having the nether become more and more dangerous and chaotic over time. Frankly, I think the nether is too hospitible as of yet. The only real issue I see here is lag. Imagine ALL of that animated fire, literally EVERYWHERE, and never going out, constantly spewing smoke particles, for miles around.

Maybe you could have fire despawn?

That removes the entire point of Netherrack of being a permanent fire source.
Beyond that, you wouldn't be able to travel in the Nether. Not because the fire would kill you, but because it would crash even the most expensive computers. Go ahead and try, light even a single chunk of the Nether on fire, I dare you. It's your CPU you'd be melting, not ours. Don't even go into what effect this would have on SMP, I shudder at the thought of trying to play on a server like that.

Exactly.
