This is Sorting Pressure Plate.
It's sorting Items.
His GUI has got four slots.
If selected item is at this plate, then same output is 1.
E.g., if first item is a gold pickaxe and to this plate has dropped a gold pick, then output is 1. But if dropped, for example, an diamond, then output is 0.
If the item is not specified - sends a signal down.
Also, instead of the lever you can put the (stone or wood), Redstone or repeater. Then the plates is not one, and respectively: 2,4,8.
Apparently it's a plate that detects particular items.
I'd rather an sorting hopper, myself.
Hopper passes objects, and invented my plate:
1) does not transfer items, and leave them in place.
2) on the said property will signal in the right direction.
3) if the item is not specified - sends a signal down
And with a Hopper has nothing to do, well, except that these gizmos are both mechanisms = P
