This idea may sound strange, a way to change the color of redstone devices using a item call Redstone Paint. The only use is changing the color of redstone blocks, it does not affect the lighting or the power signals and can be used on redstone items only. To craft the redstone paint 3 iron ingots, a dye of your choice and 3 redstone dust are required at the crafting table. Note that using red colored redstone paint only changes the color back to the original.
I don't really see a use for this. Redstone has always been the same because it is REDstone. Oh, and the crafting recipe doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Iron doesn't have anything to do with paint. No support.
Redstone Paint uses a container that does not break but runs out of redstone paint that requires another dye to reuse the container, for example if the paint color is green it requires cactus green to refill, you can empty the paint to use another paint color (crafting it gives you the color depending on the dye used in crafting). Also it does not change the color of particles from redstone; It still gives off red particles even if the redstone is colored blue.
Then why not craft it with a bucket?
You can have it give back a bucket after it is consumed.
