The bloodcurdler is a nasty aquatic mob. it looks like a squid, except that is is 3x the size, and its mouth is opposite its tentacles ( as opposed to the squid, which has its mouth with its tentacles). it only spawns in ocean biomes, and is treated as 5 hostile mobs for the mob cap.
The bloodcurdler has 35 health ( hearts), does 7 (3 1/2 hearts) on easy; 10 damage (5 hearts) on medium; and 14 damage (7 hearts) on hard, and moves at 6 meters per second. it attacks any mob or player that is in water at least 3 meters deep, (except other bloodcurdlers), with a detection range of 32 meters. If a player is in a boat, they will usually ignore the player. however, a bloodcurdler has a 5% chance on medium and a 10% chance on hard to attack a player, even it he is in a boat. when a bloodcurdler attacks, it will charge its target, and if it fails to kill it, it will swim through and then circle the target from 6 squares away for 2-10 seconds before launching another attack. if the bloodcurdler is hit while charging, it will back into its circling instead of following through.
It drops 2-5 ink sacs and 0-1 bloodcurdler tooth, and can rare drop boat wreckage (2-3 sticks and 2-3 planks) or a random item stack from a dungeon. that it got from past kills. this gives survival island players a chance at getting wood. a bloodcurdler tooth can be used to make skeletal arrows, which are made like a normal arrow, except that the flint is replaced by a bloodcurdler tooth, and the stick is replaced by a bone. skeletal arrows do double base damage (damage from power enchantment is not doubled), but are not affected by infinity. a skeletal arrow can also be a rare drop from a skeleton.
No. It's a nice idea, but no. The bloodcurdler (ewwww even the name sounds gross) is way too overpowered, and frankly, we don't need any more squids. I hate them. Also, all the people playing survival island would probably kill you if this idea were implemented, because really? I say no.
not a fan of the name. i do agree that the ocean biomes could be improved and new water mobs would be awesome but this is not the way that i would like to see it be done.
I like the idea of a new ocean mob, and the idea of a hostile giant squid could work, if it was implemented correctly. However, there are too many things that should be changed about this idea, such as nerfing the damage, not having skeletal arrows, etc. Partial support.

I'm surprised this didn't get called "krakken" or something. Anyway, needs serious work; it seems horribly overpowered and would ruin the day of anyone who lives near water it can spawn in.
No Support. Simple reasoning's: Overpowered, naming it wasn't the best, and truthfully will cause survival island players MORE dismay then they already have.
