I heard that there was going to be a redstone update coming up, and that got me thinking: two bosses is a weird number. Why not have three? Therefore, I came up with a new boss using the upcoming tools of the redstone update. So, basically, the boss would have to be built like a golem or a wither, to start with. The body would be made of redstone blocks, and I was thinking the head could be one of three things: Either a redstone lamp, making this boss not all that hard to create, a pumpkin, making it even easier, or a dragon egg. I thought maybe the dragon egg would make sense because it would make the boss harder to create, like the Wither, it puts a use to the dragon egg, and it gives a reason for the evilness of the boss. However, the bad thing is that you can only acquire one dragon egg. This means that you can only make the boss one time, or else the boss has to drop the dragon egg once destroyed.
The boss would probably look like a swirling, sort of humanoid looking cloud of red dust, with a ghostly face similar to that of a pumpkin staring out from where the head is. The body would be the color of unpowered redstone with thin swirls of powered redstone moving throughout the mass. In one of its arms could be a staff with the appearance of powered redstone and a nether quartz on its tip.
As the creature is mainly redstone, I thought that any redstone circuit or function within a certain radius of the boss would activate automatically. When it activates redstone, its whole body flashes as powered redstone. If it sees a mob, it will swing its staff at it. However, it will attempt to kill the player over a mob. If its staff does hit, the mob will react as though hit by lightning. In the case of a creeper, the creeper will become charged, and pigs will become zombie pigmen. When the staff hits a player, the undergo the lightning effect, but (this is just an idea) they will also become coated in a thin layer of redstone dust: the weaker the armor, the more dust coating. If the coated player comes within two blocks or so of a torch or fire, the player will light on fire and the dust will vanish. When damaged, the boss has a chance (maybe 50 or 25 percent) of aiming its staff at the player and launching a block of tnt, similar to a player firing an arrow. When the boss is defeated, it will create a small explosion as it vanishes. I am not sure what its drops could be, other than a dragon egg if this is what its head ended up being, and perhaps much redstone dust, nether quartz, and tnt. Another possibility is that any block in the explosion that isnt destroyed is converted to a redstone block or redstone ore. One final possibility is that it drops a glass cube tinted pink and filled with a small swirling cloud, which can be used as decoration similarly to the dragon egg.
I know this mob is pretty far-fetched and may be just about impossible to create, but if it is possible, I think it would be a cool boss and would love to have it in the game. Thanks! Please comment on my ideas!
Mojang already said that they weren't going to add anymore mobs this update. You are right this idea is far-fetched, a redstone boss doesn't seem right. As for anything involving the Dragon Egg, No. The dragon egg is a trophy awrded once you defeat the Final boss. No support.
As stated, the dragon egg idea is out. Who DOES want to waste their dragon egg? I would probably pin the experience as about the same as Ender Dragon or Wither bosses, maybe an average of the two if not slightly more than the other bosses because of the many destructive components of this mob.

I agree with most of your post, including the No Support, but last time I checked The Wither was a higher-level boss than the Dragon, since it is harder to defeat, and it's quite hard to get 3 wither skulls.

I guess your right. The enderdragon needs a serious buff, to retain it's superior mob status.

No support.
If anyone wants to port/remake this, feel free to do that! Or don't. It's up to you, really.
