Combat Skills
In dungeons there are chests. Of course everyone knows that..
But there is a small chance that there is a "Skill Book" in it.
So you take it with you and go to your house. When you open it
you will see two pages. One page with text that says what the skill does,
and the second page has a button that says "Learn Skill". Above
that button is a box that says "XP cost (number)".
So the basic idea is learning new skills for combat. I allready
thought of five of them. And here they are:
Revolver - Does a spin attack. (sword required)
Quick Escape - Quickly hop to the left or the right to escape a battle.
Sword Beam - Shoots a powerfull laser, but damages your sword A LOT. Don't use it on a wooden sword!
Instantaneous Takedown - Makes your charecter run faster for 5 seconds. Thus making a chance to stab a lot of mobs.
Temporarious Smite - Gives your weapon more power for 8 seconds.
YOU can help think of more skills. Anyhow i don't want this to be OP
so i think learning these skills should cost about 20 - 30 levels
and eat your hunger bar faster when used.
If you enter a new world, OR go into a multiplayer world, you don't keep the skills. You need to
learn them again.
That's it! What did you think? Edit: This doesn't mean that if you have skills in a SMP world you lose them when you log in again. Same with SSP
- Revolver should knock back enemies.
- Quick Escape name should change to Dash.
- Swordbeam is a little overpowered. I think something like a Sonic Boom would be more balanced. The player emits two wave shaped projectiles towards the target dealing x2 Damage, Knockback and a 10% chance to inflict a 5 second poison status effect.
NEW SKILLS
- Powershot (bows only): Player draws back the bow for 3 seconds creating an animation of which the bow takes on a blue wavy shape when the player fires the bow, it causes 1.5x Damage and deals Knockback. Depletes 2 hunger.
- Stab (bows only): Player takes the arrow currently ready in the bow and stabs the mob in front of the player dealing 1.2x damage. Depletes 1.5 Hunger. NOTE: The arrow has whatever enchantment the bow has as well.
- Uppercut (swords only): Player slices the target in an upwards cut dealing 2.5x damage and has a 20% chance to inflict Slowness. Depletes 2 hunger. - Finisher (swords only): Player stabs the target through the torso when the target is below 20% health, instantly killing the target yet damaging durability of the sword 4x faster. Deals instant death. Depletes 3 hunger.
Tell me if the skills are overpowered or not. Glad to support.
It might be a bit much to have an enchantment on our sword AND shoot lasers from it... A lot of those moves are things we can already do. "Quick Escape" is pointless, as you could just simply... run away. Sword Beam sounds overpowered and doesn't seem very Minecraft-like, if we want to fight from a distance, we'll use bows and not shoot magic lasers.
"Temporarious Smite"? Imagine how overpowered that would be on a diamond sword. Sorry, but these moves are painfully unneeded and some are downright overpowered. No support.

I think these are cool skills, but if you use all of 'em it would suck up a lot of hunger points...
You need to balance it a lot everything(Except the Revevolver that is not so much)as a lot of then are unbalanced and OverPowred.
Revolver:Totally useless. You can just spin your mouse and be pressing your mouse button.
Quick Espace:If you roll a mob will surely still atack you,and a creeper still explode. It useless, instead you can just sprint away.
Sword Beam:Seriously a sword that shoot beams?!?
Instantaneous Takedown:You can just sprint for more time.
Temporarious Smite:Seriously this is extremely overpowered with a diamond sword(Think about if it has sharpness IV)

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
That's why they suck up hunger points, to not use them all at once.
