Minecraft is never a plain world, its just a lonely world. Somtimes you come across villagers but Im thinking outside the box.... a lot outside the box. My idea? New races. If certain races were added to minecraft, I would like to see them all living in towns or villages (upgraded villages but thats a different topic) but only with there own kind. No orcs and dwarfs in same village. And certain races like to do certain things. Heres my ideas:
Orc- Brute race that mines, always carries a pick and a sword. Dwarf- Small, hearty race that cuts down trees, always that carries axe. Human-Default race. Elf- Tall race that studies in magic, always carries potions. Bugling- Small fast race that resembles a brown beetle. Always carries shovel. Aquaion-Tall race that resembles a bright blue fish. Can breath in water because of gills. Where they can be found: Orc-Encampments with mines/any biome Dwarf-Small cobblestone fortresses in the middle of forest/artic biome Human- Villages/ any biome Elf- Scattered wooden tree houses with enchanting table/ jungle biome Bugling-Dirt walkways/deep under ground. Aquaion- Structures made of gold and iron blocks/ under water in ocean Behavior:
All races are neutral, unless attacked, then they will attack player. Effect in game:
For one, it will make minecraft more intresting. Exploring will be more fun and exciting. Mining will be exciting because you may run into a couple of Buglings to trade with or kill. Either way, this would improve adventure mode by alot. Final notes- all races should be ablle to have certain drops and be able to trade, they should also be able to roam around, farm, hunt and what not. Thank you.

I understand this would be hard to implant ingame.
For one, is it too much to ask for a little originality? Robbing Tolkein is all well and good for all fantasy writers (including Gene Roddenberry) but seriously, can we discuss some races that aren't transparently ripped from the Lord of The Rings?
Secondly, let's regard the villages. You're adding five species, each with unique structures. Structures, in my mind, make a world less interesting: individual villages become less valuable because there are so many, and the natural world becomes more and more boring because it's not a village. Then you add in rare blocks: Elves have enchanting tables, which are otherwise rare and valuable. Aquarions have buildings made of iron and gold? Whole buildings?
And finally, "every race lives with its own kind". Ugh, dude.

The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
