Many people who play minecraft may know what I mean when I say this "aw man, I spawned in a desert again!"
The thing about deserts is that they are very barren in the daytime, with no peaceful mobs spawning that can be farmed. (At night, of course, there are tons of monsters!)
So I was thinking, maybe mojang should add a peaceful desert mob?
For example:
Roadrunner
*2x speed of spider
*Drops feathers when killed, perhaps also raw chicken, or roadrunner meat (new item)
*Has average health similar to a sheep or pig
*Can be lured and bred, perhaps with seeds or desert shrubs
Iguana
*Similar size and speed and health to a silverfish
*Burrows in sand blocks, and is released when sand is broken
*Does not attack if sand block is broken (unlike silverfish who will)
*Drops lizard meat when killed
*Can be lured and bred, maybe with meat foods or feathers
Tumbleweed (I know this is not an animal, but who said a mob has to be?)
*Rolls around during the day, sits still at night
*Rolls at a pretty good clip; about the speed of a spider, maybe faster.
*When killed, perhaps drops seeds (or maybe tumbleweed seeds, which work like mob eggs to spawn more weeds!) or maybe blocks of leaves it could drop
* Is immune to cactus prickles
* Takes no fall damage, and does not avoid rolling off cliffs
* Drowns very quickly in water
* Lights on fire if lava or fire is 3 blocks away or nearer
* Low HP; one hit from player will kill it.
*When reaching a step of one block high, it can "jump" to get up. If it runs into a wall, it will continue to jump (this will make it look like the wind is trying to push it up)
Personally I would really love the tumbleweed, it seems like an original idea that would look cool as a mob in the game, but of course i would like all the above mobs to be put in.
Although I like birds, I don't think roadrunners should be implemented. They would be awkward and my mind keep drifting to the Looney Tunes show. But I like the tumbleweed, though. It will drop 2-3 dry shrubs when hit and they can be used as fuel. SUPPORTED! =)
I see what you mean about the roadrunner. In fact, i had been kinda thinking about looney tunes when i added it! lol
I think I'll narrow it down to just the tumbleweed. That seems like the best choice of the 3, and is very unconventional.
