I'd like to see like... a rare occurance in Minecraft in which the Planet gets hit by a Large Meteor, creating a huge explosion. Not only would it be rare to find a meteor crash, but it would be even MORE rare to see it happen. This could possibly damage the player's home, but the odds of it happening in that particular place are so rare that it would probably never happen.
I'd just like to come across a massive crater or something in a random biome. The Meteor could be made of an extremely rare new block material, or just obsidian, or maybe it's rare enough to warrant a layer of Diamond and Emerald ore inside, like a geode. But what would be really cool, is if at the center it contained like, an alien or something. Maybe inside there could be something that you activate, causing a brand new mob, or even some sort of Alien Boss. I imagine breaking open the meteor could open up many possibilities for new materials, or new mobs. Hey, maybe the alien is a doppelganger and become you except with white eyes... okay I'm getting ahead of myself. But anyone else think this would be an awesome occurance? I'd love to come across meteor crashes in the game on the rare occasion. Maybe some less rare meteors could occur from time to time already in the terrain, but they are really old and the inside isn't quite as rewarding, but sill pretty awesome and found in old craters.
Seems nice, But would you like a house or even a town you made get hit? I think it should hit in a place where a player have no touched it but maybe where they have been by or live close by.

The game would need a way to prevent meteor strikes from occurring in specific areas. If the occurrence were rare enough, I may personally forgive the damage dealt to my home. But I can understand what you mean, many people are desperately trying to protect these things. Well, there's always the possibility of a console command to turn it off, or maybe early in the game it actually poses an extremely rare threat, like lightning but much more rare and more catastrophic. But perhaps, there could be a craftable item or something that prevents Meteors from crashing into a specific area? Maybe the Beacon could double as some form of meteor protection, or Maybe meteors never crash within so many spaces of a particular type of block, such as a Storage Chest or Bed. There are ways, but as a training game designer, I'm sure an appropriate solution if it posed a significant problem would probably be determined with a lot of QA work.
I don't agree. We don't need aliens in Minecraft, 'nuff said.
I disagree, I feel Aliens may fit in with the current roster of mobs we have. Creepers look somewhat alien-like in appearance already, and we have the Endermen, a group of tall alien-like extra dimensional beings. But these things are thrown in with Modern zombies, Animated Skeletons, Giant Spiders, Witches and Dragons. I feel as thought there are very few Cryptids and Myths that would be too farfetched at this point for Minecraft to include. (We already have a Dog, a Witch, and an Iron Man. Don't be surprised if we get a scarecrow, a lion, and Flying Monkeys.) But this is my opinion, and you are entitled to your own.
The idea of a meteor, yes, the idea that it adds a new block or mat to the game yes, the idea of an explosion and it being a rare occurrence, yes. Everything else no. Fact is most things above come with the meteor no questions, the only added thing is a new mat.

you know what that means if you read the rules, and never posted this.

Retired StaffAliens? No, we are stepping outside of MC. Fantasy is MC's thing, not Sci-Fi.
EDIT;
Redundant. Please use the search bar before posting.
