Some people, like me, have no idea how to install a mod, so I came up with a solution. You download a mod.
When you generate a world, we could have the option Mods. Once we click on it, it shows a list of mods we downloaded, and once we click on the mods we want, the world would generate with the mod(s). And when we see a list of the worlds, on the world wth the mod, it would say the mod's name. What would you think of this idea, fellow Minecrafters?
Ok I have a couple reactions. One, it would be cool to have something like a mod picker. However, there are plenty of tutorials on youtube and google, just go watch them please!? Plenty of other people have figured it out, its not rocket science. Besides, to choose a mod with your idea, it would still require the player to put the mod in the .minecraft folder. If you get that far, why not just install the mod yourself, its not hard.
Thing is, for this to work, you would have to install the mod in the first place. Something like this hopefully will be added as part of the Modding API which is hopefully going to be part of 1.6 or something, but until then, I reccomend MultiMC to help manage your mods.
Everyone's been talking about the Modding API, maybe this is somehow related to it?
Yeah, this is the purpose of the modding API, for both server-side and client-side mods. You take mods and drop them into a plugins folder to load them instead of mucking around with the .jar files.

Oh, I see. Thanks!
