Due to Mojang constantly updating their game, modders have to keep updating their mods with it, and alot of them have just stopped, usually all of the best mods get left behind so we can have witches and cats and all kinds of other pointless stuff for the vanilla game.
I don't care much for the most recent updates and want to play back on versions 1.2.5 and 1.3.2 and even more previous versions in Beta and Alpha, but since there are rules against distributing the contents of the minecraft.jar it makes it difficult to collect a library of the different versions.
Mojang should make an option where you can unpatch your game to a previous version, or just be able to download the older version by itself. I paid for the game years ago and when I bought Minecraft it was completely different from what it is now. I scorn myself for not collecting every version, because now theyre lost, and not only that but all the great mods that stopped at a certain version are lost with it.
Ok for one, google is your best friend, use it for once. The MCLauncher by Digiex provides exactly what you're looking for. Secondly, stop complaining and play the damn game or don't.
Not this again. Can't you just use something like McNostalgia? Just because a few people don't like the updates doesn't mean Mojang should be using time making a downgrading tool (which already exists in numerous places) when they could be updating Minecraft.
